TOPIC: No Little Sin (Open Heaven for Teens 29 October 2024)

MEMORISE: For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10

READ: James 2:10-13

  1. For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
  2. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
  3. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
  4. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

MESSAGE:

The temptation to commit a seemingly little sin is a snare that the devil uses to trap many Christians. For instance, the devil can tell a girl who has been living a holy life to accept a boy’s proposal to be her boyfriend because they’ll just be friends after all. He can tell a boy that if he doesn’t make millions at all costs, he will never become great. Beloved, don’t fall for these tricks because the Bible says that a little sin can cause the whole body a huge problem (Matthew 5:29).

In any case, it is gross foolishness to rate sin based on human understanding. Don’t think that telling a lie is not as grievous as murder. Revelation 21:8 says:

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

There is no small or big sin; every sin is capable of destroying its host.

PRAYER POINT
Father, please help me to live above every sin, in Jesus’ name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR
Lamentations 1:1-2:22, Philemon 1:1-25

HYMN 55: Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose

  1. Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose;
    Hear Thy Guardian Angel Say,
    “Thou Art In The Midst Of Foes:
    Watch And Pray!”
  2. Principalities And Powers,
    Mustering Their Unseen Array,
    Wait For Thy Unguarded Hours:
    “Watch And Pray.”
  3. Gird Thy Heavenly Armour On;
    Wear It Every Night And Day
    Ambush’d Lies The Evil One:
    “Watch And Pray.”
  4. Hear The Victors Who O’ercame;
    Still They Mark Each Warrior’s Way;
    All With One Sweet Voice Exclaim,
    “Watch And Pray!”
  5. Hear, Above All, Hear Thy Lord,
    Him Thou Lovest To Obey;
    Hide Within Thy Heart His Word:
    “Watch And Pra!.”
  6. Watch, As If On That Alone
    Hung The Issue Of The Day;
    Pray, That Help May Be Sent Down:
    Watch And Pray.
