OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS

DATE: THURSDAY, 3RD OF AUGUST, 2023

THEME: WRITE IT DOWN

MEMORISE: And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. Habakkuk 2:2

READ: Habakkuk 2:1-4

[1]I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

[2]And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

[3]For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

[4]Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

MESSAGE

In the course of a year, it is easy for a fellow to get carried away and lose track of his/her goals and what they really want. It’s sometimes tempting to forget about these goals to pursue something easier. When I was younger, there were no smartphones, but I used diaries to document my goals, ambitions and aspirations.

You can write your goals on your phone’s lock screen so that they will constantly register in your mind as you look at your phone screen. If you ever lose track of your goals, you’re automatically putting them on hold until you come back to them. Don’t lose sight of your goals in life. You can also write your goals on sticky notes and put them in places where you can see them often. A few places to put your ‘goal list’ are: your phone’s home screen, on the bedside table in your room, on your study desk at home, beside your mirror in the bathroom, on your laptop wallpaper, et cetera. I pray that God will give you all that you need to pursue and achieve your goals this year in Jesus’ name.

ACTION POINT

Write down two goals each for the major areas of your life and paste them in the places mentioned above.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:

Jeremiah 1-3

HYMN I’M PRESSING ON THE UPWARD WAY

1. I’m pressing on the upward way,

New heights I’m gaining everyday;

Still praying as I onward bound

“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

CHORUS

Lord, lift me up and let me stand,

By faith, on Heaven’s table-land;

Where love, and joy, and light abound,

Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

2. My heart has no desire to stay

Where doubts arise, and fears dismay;

Though some may dwell where these abound,

My constant aim is higher ground.

3. Beyond the mist I fain would rise,

To rest beneath unclouded skies,

Above earth’s turmoil peace is found

By those who dwell on higher ground.

4. I long to scale the utmost height,

Though rough the way, and hard the fight,

My song, while climbing, shall resound

Lord, lead me on to higher ground.

5. Lord, lead me up the mountain side

I dare not climb without my Guide;

And, heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,

With grateful heart from higher ground.
