READ: Joshua 1:8
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 26-28, Acts 11:1-30

MESSAGE:

Being successful means achieving desired visions and planned goals. One of the ways to achieve success is mentioned in our Bible reading today: meditate on Gods word. When I was writing my Ph.D. thesis in Mathematics many years ago, I tried to solve an equation for many days and came to a point of confusion. I prayed for direction but the situation remained, so, I abandoned it. One day, during my quiet time, I was studying the story of how God parted the Red Sea and the children of Israel walked on dry ground. Then the Holy Spirit inspired me to pick up the thesis again, divide the equation into two, solve them differently and bring the answers together. At the end of the day, I got a beautiful solution.

Through meditating on and doing Gods word, you can gain clarity and achieve success. God wants you to succeed in life and He will help you in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINT:

Lord, please make me attain good success in Jesus name.

HYMN: I’M PRESSING ON THE UPWARD WAY

  1. I’m pressing on the upward way,
    New heights I’m gaining every day;
    Still praying as I onward bound,
    “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground”.

CHORUS
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith on heaven’s table-land;
Where love and joy and light abound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

  1. My heart has no desire to stay,
    Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
    Though some may dwell where these abound,
    My constant aim is higher ground.
  2. Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
    To rest beneath unclouded skies,
    Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
    By those who dwell on higher ground.
  3. I long to scale the utmost height,
    Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
    My song while climbing shall resound
    Lord lead me on to higher ground.
  4. Lord lead me up the mountain side,
    I dare not climb without my Guide;
    And heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
    With grateful heart from higher ground.
