READ: Hebrews 4:16

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Chronicles 10-12, John 13:18-38

MESSAGE:

Documentaries on the habitat of animals have shown that the lion is fearless in its pursuit. It is so courageous and confident that it doesn’t retreat from any threat or attack. No wonder the Bible uses the lion to describe the attitude God expects from His children.

When should you be bold? You should be bold when approaching God. Hebrews 4:16 says:

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need”

When you approach God in prayer, you’re to come boldly as this will determine whether you’ll obtain what you need or walk away empty-handed. In other words, boldness is a prerequisite to receiving anything you ask in faith from God.

However, your relationship with God and knowing who you are in Christ should be the basis of your boldness. When Jesus died on the cross, one of the rights He secured for you is the right to come freely into the presence of God without condemnation, insecurity or fear.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, take away the spirit of fear from me and give me the spirit of boldness.

HYMN: BREATHE ON ME BREATH OF GOD

  1. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
fill me with life anew, that I may love what
    Thou dost love,
And do what Thou wouldst do.
  2. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
    Until my heart is pure,
Until with Thee I will one will,
    To do and to endure.
  3. Breathe on me, Breath of God;
    Till I am wholly Thine,
Until this earthly part of me
    Glows with Thy fire divine.
  4. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
    So shall I never die,
But live with Thee the perfect life
    Of Thine eternity.
