MEMORISE: The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. Psalms 25:9

  1. And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

  2. Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
  3. And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
  4. And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.
  5. And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear.
  6. Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
  7. Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
  8. But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Numbers 30-31, Mark 9:30-50

MESSAGE:

In times past, we called children leaders of tomorrow but now, they are leaders of today because tomorrow is here already. As a young leader, meekness is an attribute of the Holy Spirit you have to cultivate now if you want to achieve great feats in life. To be meek is to have authority but show great restraint in exercising it. For example, Moses is referred to as the meekest man on earth because on several occasions, the Israelites spoke against him and even when God wants to punish them, he would plead on their behalf. Jesus Christ is another example. When He was beaten and crucified, He could have called on angels to save Him, but He didn’t.

Don’t be so temperamental that anyone who offends you must be punished. If you want to be a successful leader, you must be meek. Also, be ready to forgive whoever wrongs you. Be like your Heavenly Father who is slow to anger and rich in mercy.

KEY POINT:

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

HYMN 3: Amazing Grace

  1. All to Jesus I surrender,
    All to Him I freely give;
    I will ever love and trust Him,
    In His presence daily live.

Chorus:
I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Saviour,
I surrender all.

  1. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Humbly at His feet I bow;
    Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
    Take me, Jesus, take me now.
  2. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Lord, I give myself to Thee;
    Fill me with Thy love and power,
    Let Thy blessing fall on me.
  3. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Now I feel the sacred flame;
    O the joy of full salvation!
    Glory, glory to His name!
