TOPIC: Hearer Of Prayers [Open Heaven for Teens 3 September 2022]

MEMORISE: O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come. Psalms 65:2

READ: 1 John 5:14
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, Proverbs 3-4

MESSAGE:

Many times, children of God pray and still think M of other options, just in case their prayers are not answered. This attitude is fuelled by a lack of faith in God. Let it sink into your subconscious today that God hears prayers. I say this with absolute confidence because it has worked for me.

There are many instances in the Bible which show that God truly answers prayers. For instance, the children of Israel, after all they had gone through in the hands of Pharaoh, were finally set free only to be faced by the Red Sea. They couldn’t go back because Pharaoh and his men were in hot pursuit, nor could they go forward. Moses called on God; as he stretched his rod towards the sea, it parted and the Israelites walked on dry ground. What about Hannah who was termed barren? For several years, Peninnah – the other wife who had children, taunted her constantly. One year however, Hannah went to Shiloh and cried unto God so much that Prophet Eli thought she was drunk. God heard her cry and blessed her with Samuel and other children. God truly answers prayers.

ACTION POINT:

Without any doubt or a Plan B, spend time to present your requests to God today.

HYMN: Pass Me Not A Gentle Saviour

  1. Pass me not, O gentle Saviour,
    Hear my humble cry,
    While on others Thou art calling,
    Do not pass me by.

CHORUS
Saviour, Saviour,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

  1. Let me at Thy throne of mercy
    Find a sweet relief;
    Kneeling there in deep contrition,
    Help my unbelief.
  2. Trusting only in Thy merit,
    Would I seek Thy face;
    Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
    Save me by Thy grace.
  3. Thou the Spring of all my comfort,
    More than life to me,
    Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
    Whom in heaven but Thee?
