TOPIC: Anger II [Open Heaven for Teens 30 April 2021]

MEMORISE: He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. Proverbs 16:32

READ: James 1:19

19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Samuel 23-24, Luke 22:31-71

MESSAGE:

When some people preach on anger, they quote Ephesians 4:26 which says:

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:”

No one can deny what the above passage says, but then, what will happen if the rapture occurs while you are angry? Do you think you will reign with Christ? God expects all His children to be slow to anger and it is very possible.

First, deal with the cause of anger. If you are proud, learn to be humble. If you are envious, stop being envious, rather, be content with what you have and ask God for your needs. If you do not have love, well, I doubt if you are even born again because God is love. So, if you are His child, you will act like He. However, learn to love. Also, don’t make friends with angry people so that you don’t learn their ways. Proverbs 22:24 says:

“Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go”.

Whenever you are tempted to get angry, leave the scene and if you cannot, ask the Holy Spirit for help.

KEY POINT:

Never give room for anger in your life.

HYMN: LET OTHERS SEE JESUS IN YOU

  1. While passing through this
    world of sin,
    And others your
    life shall view,
    Be clean and pure
    without, within,
    Let others see Jesus in you.

CHORUS
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you;
Keep telling the story,
be faithful and true,
Let others see Jesus in you.

  1. Your life’s a book before
    their eyes,
    They’re reading it through
    and through;
    Say, does it point them to the
    skies,
    Do others see Jesus in you?
  2. What joy ’twill be at set of sun,
    In mansions beyond the blue,
    To find some souls
    that you have won;
    Let others see Jesus in you.
  3. Then live for Christ both
    day and night,
    Be faithful, be brave, and true,
    And lead the lost to life and light;
    Let others see Jesus in you.
