TOPIC: Water And Fire Do Not Mix [Open Heaven for Teens 30 January 2024]

MEMORISE: And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? If the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. 1 Kings 18:21

READ: 1 John 2:15-17

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

MESSAGE

Long ago, I was on a plane to the United States of America, and there was an old woman sitting beside me. It was her first time on a plane, and she did not know how to put on a seat belt. So, I helped her. When refreshments were about to be served, she did not know where the table was, so I helped her again. About 30 minutes later, she said, “You must be a minister of God,” and I replied, “Yes.” Then she said, “I guessed as much.”

Beloved, it shouldn’t be difficult to recognise a Christian because the Bible says, “By their fruits, you shall know them” (Matthew 7:16). If you go to church, and people cannot tell that you are a Christian, you are merely a churchgoer. People must be able to see Jesus in you. I always tell God that I want to be an example of who a Christian should be. No matter the cost, I want people to see me and know that I am a Christian.

My dear child, if you have been living a mixed lifestyle, it is not too late to get rid of that lifestyle and live for Christ. Surrender to Jesus completely and ask the Holy Spirit for help.

REFLECTION

Can everyone see Jesus in you?

HYMN 16 – Breathe On Me, Breath Of God

1. Breathe on me, Breath of God;
Fill me with life anew,
That I may love what Thou dost love,
And do what Thou wouldst do.

2. Breathe on me, Breath of God:
Until my heart is pure,
Until with Thee I will one will,
To do and to endure.

3. Breathe on me, Breath of God
Till I am wholly Thine,
Until this earthly part of me
Glows with Thy fire divine.

4. Breathe on me, Breath of God;
So shall I never die,
But live with Thee the perfect life
Of Thine eternity.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Exodus 10:1-12:13; Matthew 20:1-28
