TOPIC: Winning By Foolish Means? [Open Heaven for Teens 30 June 2022]

MEMORISE: Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1 Corinthians 1:25

READ: 1 Corinthians 1:21-25

  1. For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
  2. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
  3. But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
  4. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
  5. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Acts 9:23-43, Job 19-20

MESSAGE:

When the Lord told me to soak a singlet in a bowl of oil and use the oil to anoint people, it sounded foolish to human ears but the testimonies that came out of that meeting were mind-blowing to the glory God. At another time, He told me to take my eyes off my cars dashboard and drive over 10 kilometres on an empty tank: that sounded foolish but it happened. Gods ways are not mans ways; He will do what He will do, using His own methods and strategies.

If the President of your country were to say that, to combat insurgency, God had directed that the armed forces should drop their guns and start dancing in praises right in the war-torn zone, I’m sure you would say that must be madness! Interestingly, this was the case in the time of Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 20:1-37). God gave them victory through praise.
While it is good to outline your plans (because that’s the right thing to do) in order to maximize your life, its better to keep an open mind tuned to the Holy Spirit in your spiritual life, academics, career and relationship with people generally. This will help you achieve great results through uncommon means.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, please have Your way in me always.

HYMN: Lead Us Heavenly Father

  1. Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us
    o’er the world’s tempestuous sea;
    guard us, guide us, keep us, feed us,
    for we have no help but Thee;
    yet possessing every blessing,
    if our God our Father be.
  2. Saviour, breathe forgiveness o’er us:
    all our weakness Thou dost know;
    Thou didst tread this earth before us,
    Thou didst feel its keenest woe;
    lone and dreary, faint and weary,
    through the desert Thou didst go.
  3. Spirit of our God, descending,
    fill our hearts with heavenly joy,
    love with every passion blending,
    pleasure that can never cloy:
    thus provided, pardoned, guided,
    nothing can our peace destroy.
