MEMORISE: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Revelation 1:18

READ: 1 Corinthians 15:54-57

  1. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
  2. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
  3. The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
  4. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Judges 12-14, Luke 9:37-62

MESSAGE:

When Jesus was nailed to the cross, the greatest battle Win history was fought. It was a battle between light and darkness as there was no light for three days. But when Jesus resurrected, there was light and victory. His resurrection brought victory over Satan and death. As a matter of fact, Calvary frees every child of God from the fear of death because Jesus defeated the devil who had the power of death.

I lost my fear of death many years ago when my mother said to me that she wanted to see how she would be buried; she requested to see the clothes and the coffin she would be buried in. We bought the coffin and asked a good tailor to take her measurement and sew her clothes. The tailor brought the clothes and she tried them on with much joy saying they were the garments for her wedding with the Bridegroom. Indeed, every child of God that dies leaves this world to be joined with the Bridegroom in heaven. Why fear death? Bear it in my mind that you cannot die until your day comes because the Bridegroom has the key of life and death in His hands.

KEY POINT:
You cannot die before your time.

HYMN 5: BE GLAD IN THE LORD AND REJOICE

  1. Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
    All ye that are upright in heart;
    And ye that have made Him your choice,
    Bid sadness and sorrow depart.

Chorus:
Rejoice!.. rejoice!..
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!
Rejoice!.. rejoice!..
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!

  1. Be joyful, for He is the Lord,
    On earth and in heaven supreme;
    He fashions and rules by His word;
    The Mighty and Strong to redeem.
  2. What tho’ in the conflict for right
    Your enemies almost prevail!
    God’s armies, just hid from your sight,
    Are more than the foes which assail.
  3. Tho’ darkness surround you by day,
    Your sky by the night be o’ercast,
    Let nothing your spirit dismay,
    But trust till the danger is past.
  4. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice,
    His praises proclaiming in song;
    With harp, and with organ, and voice,
    The loud hallelujahs prolong!
