READ: Malachi 3:8-10

8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

MESSAGE

I have heard some of our pastors in The Redeemed Christian Church of God say, “If you are suffering. check your offering: if things are tight, check your tithe. You don’t have to be in the UK to be okay, and you don’t need to be in China to be shining. Every good thing comes from above, not abroad.” Many people complain about not being blessed, but they refuse to check their offerings.

An offering is freely given to express your gratitude or love for God. It should be given purely based on your financial capacity and willingness, and not grudgingly. You should be thoughtful enough to give God a portion of the blessings He has given you. God Himself taught us how to give when He gave us His beloved son to die for our sins (John 3:16). This is why I can give God anything that He requests of me.

The best time to start learning how to give is now so that by the time you begin earning large sums of money, giving will already be a lifestyle. I encourage you to start giving to at least one person every week, apart from the offerings you give in church. Be blessing to God’s work and the people around you, and watch Him multiply your resources.

When you give cheerfully, you will receive

HYMN 17 – There Shall be Showers of Blessing

1. There shall be showers of blessing”
This is the promise of love;
There shall be season refreshing
Send from a savior above

CHORUS
Showers of blessing
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drop round are falling
But for the showers we plead.

2. ”There shall be showers of blessing”
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys;
Sound of abundance of rain.

3. ”There shall be showers of blessing”
Send them upon us Oh Lord!
Grant to us a refreshing;
Come now and honour Thy Word.

4. ”There shall be showers of blessing”
Oh, that today thy might fall,
Now as to God we are confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

5. ”There shall be showers of blessing”
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be season refreshing,
If we let God have his way.
