MEMORISE: Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. James 4:2
READ: Exodus 15:22-25
22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
24 And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
25 And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 35-38
MESSAGE
One deadly habit that is common among the people of God today is murmuring. Do you know that there are times you think you are praying, but you are murmuring? It is a silent destroyer, and like the Israelites of old, many children of God engage in it without even realizing it. As a child of God, you are to behave like Moses, who cried out to the Lord for a solution, and not like the people of Israel who murmured when they got to Marah, despite all that God had done for them.
Murmuring is an exercise in futility. Nothing changes when you murmur to God, just like the bitter water did not turn sweet because of the Israelites’ murmuring, but because of Moses’ prayers. The prayers of God’s children move Him to action and always yield positive results. My child, if you want God to meet your needs, put a stop to murmuring: instead, cry out to God in prayers.

HYMN 7 – Just As I Am, Without One Plea
- Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come. - Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot
To Thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come. - Just as I am though tossed about,
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
Fighting’s and fears within, without,
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come. - Just as I am poor, wretched, blind,
Sight, riches, healing of the mind
Yea, all I need, in Thee to find
Oh Lamb of God I come, I come.
