TOPIC: Be A Doer [Open Heaven for Teens 4 March 2021]
MEMORISE: But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22
READ: James 1:21-25
- Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Also See: OPEN HEAVEN 4 MARCH 2021 – VICTORY BY THE BLOOD - But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
- For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
- For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
- But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Numbers 32-33, Mark 10:1-52
MESSAGE:
Your attitude towards the word of God matters a lot. When it comes to listening to the word of God, there can only be two categories; those who listen and do the word and those who listen and do nothing. Whenever you hear the word of God, particularly the one that convicts you of any wrong attitude, rather than reason it out, act on it immediately. Once I hear a word that touches me, I act on it immediately. I remember some time ago, I attended Bible Study and the teacher said that worldly music invites evil spirits into a home. I rushed home after the service, packed all the worldly music I had and destroyed them immediately. I severed every link with evil spirits in my home. Prompt response is what God expects from His children. The Bible says when you hear and don’t act on it, you are only deceiving yourself.
Also, the blessings of God are on those who do the word, not just the listeners. Henceforth, hear and do Gods word so that you can be blessed.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please give me the grace to be a doer of Your word.
HYMN 3: AMAZING GRACE
- All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
Chorus:
I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Saviour,
I surrender all.
- All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
Take me, Jesus, take me now. - All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me. - All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame;
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory to His name!
