TOPIC: God Gets Angry Too [Open Heaven for Teens 4 May 2021]

MEMORISE: For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalms 30:5

READ: Psalms 30:1-5

  1. I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
  2. O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
  3. O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
  4. Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
  5. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Kings 8-9, Luke 23:23-56

MESSAGE:

In this end time, many preachers tell their congregation that God is love -so loving that He cannot hurt anyone. Some even say that there is nothing one can do to provoke God that He will destroy one. Well, there is no doubt that God is love. However, saying that He cannot be provoked to anger is a lie of the devil; He can get angry. When a fellow takes Gods mercy for granted and continues to sin without control, God will be angry. God is angry with sinners. Psalm 7:11 says:

“God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.”

The wicked in the scripture above are sinners. However, our memory verse says that His anger is for a moment. When a sinner genuinely turns from his wicked ways, God will deal with him as if he never sinned. Are you taking Gods love for granted by committing sins? Stop making God angry; confess and forsake your sins today so that He can show you mercy.

ACTION POINT:

God is angry with sinners, don’t be one.

HYMN 13: I’VE FOUND A FRIEND IN JESUS

  1. I’ve found a friend in Jesus,
    He’s everything to me,
    He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;
    The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see
    All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole.
    In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay;
    He tells me every care on Him to roll.
    He’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star,
    He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.
  2. He all my griefs has taken, and all my sorrows borne;
    In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tow’r;
    I’ve all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn
    From my heart and now He keeps me by His pow’r.
    Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,
    Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal.
  3. He’ll never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,
    While I live by faith and do His blessed will;
    A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fear,
    From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.
    Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,
    Where rivers of delight shall ever roll.
