OPEN HEAVEN FOR TEENS

THEME: HIS FAVOUR LOCATES II
MEMORISE: Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners: and purify your hearts, ye double minded. James 4:8
[1]Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.
[2]And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
[3]Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.
MESSAGE
In today’s Bible text, the king raised his golden scepter, which symbolized that he was beckoning Esther to come closer. The golden scepter was a symbol of his power. This shows that when the time comes for God to favour a fellow, He beckons on him/her to come close to His power. After Esther touched the scepter, the king then told her to make her request, promising that all would be granted, up to half of his kingdom. Did you also notice that before Esther asked, the king had already said that the answer was settled? This means that when the time of favour comes, all prayers will be answered.
The crux of today’s message is that for God’s favour to locate you, you must draw near to Him. So, if you are yet to give your life to Jesus, take a bold step, ask for forgiveness, and surrender your life to Him today. If you have given your life to Him and you with sin, rededicate your life to Him today and ask Him to favour you.
PRAYER POINT
Father, please, draw me closer to You and let me be favoured.
