BIBLE TEXT: Isaiah 59:1-3

1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

MESSAGE:

Hearing God is one of the most beautiful things that can happen to a fellow. God speaks to correct, inspire, rebuke and direct His children, but it’s left to them to listen and do the needful. If a fellow keeps rejecting or disobeying God, God will become silent. Similarly, God can refuse to speak to a fellow with an idol in his/her heart. Ezekiel 14:3 says:

“Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumbling-block of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?”

Some people cannot hear God because sin has created a barrier between them and God, or they have wrong motives. Call on Him today, listen to what He has to say, and watch your life turn around for good. For your prayers to be answered, you must first turn the searchlight on yourself, repent of your sins, and discard your idols completely.

ACTION POINT:

Meditate on all that God has told you in the past and see whether you have ignored any. Then, repent and restitute your Ways.

HYMN 13 – PASS ME NOT, O GENTLE SAVIOUR

  1. Pass me not, O gentle Saviour,
    Hear my humble cry;
    While on others Thou art calling,
    Do not pass me by.

CHORUS
Saviour Saviour,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

  1. Let me, at Thy throne of mercy
    Find a sweet relief;
    Kneeling there in deep contrition,
    Help my unbelief.
  2. Trusting only in Thy merit
    Would I seek Thy face
    Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
    Save me by Thy grace.
  3. Thou, the spring of all my comfort,
    More than life to me.
    Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
    Whom in heaven but Thee
