MEMORISE: He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. – Psalms 91:15

READ: Psalms 91:15-16

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

MESSAGE

Many years ago, my driver and I were going for an outreach in the South-Western part of Nigeria. We got to a particular bridge where only one vehicle could pass at a time. So, when my driver got to the middle of that bridge, we suddenly saw a big lorry approaching. We didn’t have enough time to reverse, but there was enough time to shout one name: the name of Jesus.

Suddenly, we found ourselves on the other side of the bridge while the lorry also went on its way. Then we realised that Jesus had expanded the bridge for us to pass safely. Thankfully, my driver didn’t look back in the car because I was shaking behind him. He kept shouting “Wonderful!” and I responded with “Yes! That is His name” until we reached our destination.

Beloved, the troubles of life cannot be handled with human wisdom. The only name that can save is Jesus. There is no certainty or protection anywhere else. As long as your time is not up, call on the name of Jesus and trust Him to protect you and your family. Go ahead and shout the name of Jesus right now!

KEY POINT

Only Jesus can save.

HYMN 5 – Jesus, My Lord, My God, My All

1. Jesus, my Lord, my God, my all,
Hear me, blest Saviour, when I call;
Hear me, and from Thy dwelling place
Pour down the riches of Thy grace;

CHORUS
Jesus, my Lord, I Thee adore;
Oh make me love Thee more and more.

2. Jesus, too late I Thee have sought;
How can I love Thee as I ought?
And how extol Thy matchless fame,
The glorious beauty of Thy name?

3. Jesus, what didst Thou find in me,
That Thou hast dealt so lovingly?
How great the joy that Thou hast brought
So far exceeding hope or thought!

4. Jesus, of Thee shall be my song,
To Thee my heart and soul belong;
All that I have or am is Thine,
And Thou, blest Saviour, Thou art mine.
