Memorise: If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Romans 12:18

Read: Romans 12:17-21

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.

18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

20 On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this,you will heap burning coals on his head.”

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Bible In One Year: Leviticus 4-6; Mathew 25:1-30

MESSAGE:

To be at peace with people means to stay out of trouble. Sometimes, it means to even accept blame for the wrong you didn’t do. It also means to be quiet when insulted. It is wal king away from a scene that could lead to a quarrel. Being at peace with people is to speak well of those who hate you. You wonder if this is possible right? It is. If not, God wouldn’t tell us to be at peace with all men. Often, when an attack is launched at me in the media, I choose to be quiet. People wonder why. Well, I am a child of the Prince of Peace. I can never fight. As a child of God, you should not be involved in fights or quarrels. Even when bullied, you are not expected to fight back. Rather, report the bully to the right authority and the best authority is God.

The hallmark of Christianity remains peace. Maintaining a peaceful attitude when cheated is still the best way to tell people that you are a child of God indeed.

Key Point:

Father, please give me the grace to be at peace with everyone at all times

Hymn 3: All To Jesus I Surrender

  1. All to Jesus I surrender,
    All to Him I freely give;
    I will ever love and trust Him,
    In His presence daily live.

Chorus:
I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Saviour,
I surrender all.

  1. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Humbly at His feet I bow;
    Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
    Take me, Jesus, take me now.
  2. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Lord, I give myself to Thee;
    Fill me with Thy love and power,
    Let Thy blessing fall on me.
  3. All to Jesus I surrender,
    Now I feel the sacred flame;
    O the joy of full salvation!
    Glory, glory to His name!
