MEMORISE: And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22

READ: Matthew 21:21-22

  1. Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
  2. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 49-50, Hebrews 5:1-14

MESSAGE:

My wife had a kettle that could boil water sufficient to make only four cups of tea at once. One morning, she made some tea and we sat to a breakfast of bread with tea. At the first round, we took a cup each. When it was time for the second round, I realized the remaining tea could only fill one cup. I asked if she miscalculated that morning and she replied, “No”, I was confused. Then, God spoke to me saying, Son, remember that you invited me in your prayers before you started eating. The missing cup of tea is to show you that I came to the table. I was touched that God joined us.

Some children have died as a result of food poisoning. This might have been averted if they prayed on the food before tasting or eating. Its an act of reverence when you invite your Heavenly Father to join you at every meal. You can be sure He will sanctify it and allow it nourish your body. Don’t take this for granted because God is interested in every detail of your life.

KEY POINT:

Always invite Jesus to join in your meals.

HYMN: WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

  1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
    All our sins and griefs to bear;
    What a privilege to carry
    Ev’rything to God in prayer
Oh! what peace we often forfeit,
Oh! what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
    Everything to God in prayer.
  2. Have we trials and temptations?
    Is there trouble anywhere?
    We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a Friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrow share?
    Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
  3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
    Precious Saviour still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
