TOPIC: The Potter [Open Heaven for Teens 9 September 2022]

MEMORISE: O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. Jeremiah 18:6

READ: Jeremiah 18:1-6

  1. The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
  2. Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
  3. Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
  4. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
  5. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
  6. O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

MESSAGE:

Any life outside God cannot be well formed and anyone who understands this is wise. The mistake some believers make is that they want to be called Christians, yet enjoy the pleasures of the world. This is impossible. You are either for God or the devil.

For some, the Christian life is boring and cumbersome. It is so to them because they have not completely yielded to the moulding of the Potter. If a lump of clay cannot tell the potter how it should be moulded, how then can a child of God dictate how he/she wants to live his/her life?

My child, the beautiful thing is that any life moulded by God will be a model to all. Don’t think too far, I am an example. I know who I was until I allowed Christ into my life and gave Him the right to mould me. Today, people talk about Adeboye. If I make a statement, particularly to my children, before the end of the sermon, the press would have published it online; by the following day, people would be reading about it in Newspapers. I am just Adeboye – a boy that had no shoes until he was eighteen years old. Allow God to mould you.

KEY POINT:

Do you want to be the cynosure of all? Allow the Potter to mould you as He wishes.
