Topic: Scatter Your Enemies [Open Heavens for Teens 11 July 2019]
Memorise: “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. “ – Psalms 68:1
Read: 2 Chronicles 18:30-32
30 Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.
31 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
32 For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.
Bible In One Year: Psalm 4-6, Acts 16:16-40
MESSAGE:
Our memory verse for today tells us that when God rises up, all Hus enemies are scattered. The truth is that God’s enemies are the enemies if His children.
Now, how can you get God to stand up on your behalf? Simply praise Him. Psalm 22:3 says He inhabits the praises of His people. So when He hears praises from a particular place, He rises up and goes there to enjoy the praise. The good thing is that as He rises, all the enemies of the fellow praising God will scatter. If you don’t believe me ask Jehoshaphat. Immediately Jehoshaphat’s people started praising God, all Hus enemies who were united to attack him suddenly scattered. Have some people coming together to threaten the peace of your family? Just call everyone together for a praise session, you will soon hear the news that your enemies have scattered.
Key Point:
When you want God to fight on your behalf, just praise Him.

Hymn 8:
1 Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
2 Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;
Thy justice like mountains high soaring above,
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love.
3 To all life thou givest to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish, but nought changeth Thee.
4 Great Father of Glory, pure Father of Light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
All laud we would render; o help us to see;
‘Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee.
5 Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise.
