MESSAGE:

Patience is an indispensable virtue for believers in Christ. In the first place, the race we are called Intl can only be run through patience because it is a marathon (Hebrews 12:1). Also, there is hardly any promises of God that can be fulfilled in the life of believers without the combination of faith and patience (Hebrews 6:12). As indispensable as faith is to a Christian, so also is patience. No wonder it is part of the fruit of the Spirit.

If you have a lot of patience, you are rich. Like faith, patience is needed in virtually in every area. According to today’s reading, patience has a divine assignment to perform in our lives that will make us perfect. There is no perfection without patience, and without perfection you cannot see God. Patience can attract God’s mercy to qualify the unqualified. And this is because patiently waiting on God for solution to your problems implies all your hope and trust is put in Him. when God sees that you put all your trust in Him, he commits Himself to answering almost your prayers. Swear child, your are not too young to learn patiently wait on God for all you need; it really pays.

Key Point:
Until patience has its full impact in your life, you cannot be what you were meant to be.

Hymn 6:

1 Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home:

2 Under the shadow of your throne
Your saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is your arm alone,
And our defense is sure

3 Before the hills in order stood
Or earth received its frame,
From everlasting you are God,
To endless years the same.

4 A thousand ages in your sight
Are like an evening gone
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

5 Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Soon bears us all away;
We fly forgotten, as a dream
Does at the opening day.

6 Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Still be our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home!
