Memorise: “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.” – Ephesians 5:14
Read: James 2:17-26
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Bible In One Year: Psalm 36-37, Acts 23:1-11
MESSAGE:
Many people are expecting a miracle from God, but they are not making any move in the direction of the miracle they want. Our memory verse today says that you must first wake up, rise up, then God will give the light. God has already made everything you need available, but if you want it, you must make a move. For instance, if you want healing; Christ has already taken strokes of the cane meant for your healing. So don’t remain on the bed, get up and claim your healing.
Some years ago, I fell I’ll and couldn’t go for a midweek service. I thought since I couldn’t go to church, I should listen to a sermon on the radio. The preacher seemed to be talking to me, he said if you have faith that God will heal you, what are you still doing on the bed? “Get up and walk!” I got up and went to church still in pains. Before long, I needed to ease myself and went to the toilet. By the time I got out, I was completely healed.
Key Point:
Move, and your miracle will meet you on your way.

Hymn 1:
1 My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
Oh, let me from this day
Be wholly Thine!
2 May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
Pure, warm and changeless be,
A living fire!
3 While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.
4 When ends life’s transient dream,
When death’s cold sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll;
Blest Savior, then, in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
Oh, bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul.
