Topic: Jesus Worked With Time [Open Heavens for Teens 16 June 2019]
Memorise: “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” – John 9:4
Read: John 9:1-7
1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
Bible In One Year: Nehemiah 1-3, Acts 2:1-13
MESSAGE:
Time has a way of deceiving us. It gives us the illusion that everything is standing still and nothing is lost. It appears to tell us never to worry. Anyone who falls for this illusion will regret at the end of the day having failed to accomplish what he or she was supposed to do.
Our Lord Jesus Christ started His ministry at the age of 30 (Luke 3:23), and within about three and a half years. He had accomplished His purpose on earth. He had completed His Father’s assignment. He had touched many lives. He had raised many disciples and had mentored the apostles to take over from Him. He knew what His purpose was and He knew the time available to Him, so He worked yo make utmost use of it. Most of us already have our work cut out for us; we know what to do, and we know the amount of time we have at our disposal, but rather than make best use of it, we drag our legs Till that time slips away! Some misuse their time doing irrelevant things, while some people haven’t learnt to prioritize their activities, so they end up being busy with unimportant things. Be like Jesus; use your time wisely.
Prayer Point:
Lord, as you worked with time to fulfill your purpose on earth, grant me the grace to achieve my purpose.

Hymn 5:
1 Onward, Christian soldiers,
Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before!
Christ, the Royal Master,
Leads against the foe;
Forward into battle,
See His banners go!
Chorus
Onward, Christian soldiers!
Marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus
Going on before!
2 At the Sign of triumph
Satan’s host doth flee;
On, then, Christian soldiers,
On to victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver
At the shout of praise;
Brothers, lift your voices,
Loud your anthems raise!
3 Like a mighty army
Moves the Church of God;
Brothers, we are treading
Where the saints have trod;
We are not divided;
All one body we
One in hope and doctrine,
One in charity.
4 Onward, then, ye people,
Join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices
In the triumph song;
Glory, praise and honour,
Unto Christ the King;
This, through countless ages
Men and angels sing.
