Memorise: “And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.” – Exodus 34:30

Read: Exodus 34:29-35

29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.

30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.

31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.

32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.

33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.

34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.

35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

MESSAGE:

When you spend quality time with God, it will definitely show. This is clear from the account of Moses from today’s Bible reading. After spending 40 days and nights in God’s presence on Mount Sinai, his face shone. The Israelites could not look at his face anymore. Not only were they not able to stand God’s presence, they could not face His servant. The presence of God also caused a demarcation between Moses and the Israelites. Suddenly, the one they could talk to anyhow and touch as they liked just before he climbed the mountain, became the one that they had to be careful how they talked to. The presence of God in your life can bring about a separation between you and those who can hurt you.

Make it a point of duty each day to connect with God before you start your day. Doing this goes a long way in determining how your day will go. God’s presence makes all the difference. Take time to cry to God for His manifest presence in your life today!

Prayer Point:
Father, let your presence never leave me.

Hymn 7:

1 I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Chorus:
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

2 Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

3 Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

4 There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
