Topic: Conquering the Spirit of Fear

Romans 4:20 – He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.

Irrespective of what Abraham saw, he was not afraid. He knew God is able to perform what He had said concerning his life. Faith is the custodian of every man’s destiny. Faith is a spiritual force that puts you in command.

Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

According to the above scripture, faith is a must. If you don’t walk by faith, you can never please God.

Hebrews 11:3 – Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

You can reshape your destiny and rewrite your story by faith. Satan cannot get at you until he gets at your faith. Nothing gives way to the devil like fear. Fear is the opposite of faith. Fear is not a psychological state; fear is a spirit.

2 Timothy 1:7 – For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

People are victims of what they fear.

Job 3:25 – For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.

The reason Job became victim of satan’s attack was because of fear. No matter how dedicated, righteous and holy you are, if you are afraid, you have given the devil room to attack you.

Fear will always give the devil access to your life. Satan could not touch Job until he became afraid. Job did not even know that God protected him.

Job 1:10 – Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

Satan knew that God protected Job but Job, through fear, created an avenue for satan to attack him. Satan never had access to Job until he became afraid. Every time you are afraid, you open the door for satan to attack but I pray for you today, satan will not have access to you in Jesus name!

Faith is the antidote for fear. Where fear is, faith cannot be found and where faith is, fear cannot be found. In the Bible, there are 365 places that “FEAR NOT” or “BE NOT AFRAID” was written. This means that there is a “fear not” for each day of the year for you.

A wise man said – When fear knocks at the door, send faith to open the door and you will discover that there is nobody there. Every time faith is at work, fear disappears and every time fear is at work faith cannot operate.
The reason many people are afraid is because of lack of faith. When Peter was walking on the water, he saw a boisterous wind and became scared. As soon as he was afraid, the Bible recorded that he began to sink.

Matthew 14:31 – And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

As long as you walk by what you see, fear will remain until you walk by faith.

2 Corinthians 5:7 – (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

Every time you notice fear, it is an indication that faith is absent. You will become a victim of anything you are afraid of. If you are afraid of death, death will come. If you are afraid of unemployment, you will never get miracle job; so you should build your faith in that area.

Satan has no power to attack you except through your fears. There are women who are not yet married but they are already afraid of having children. Many people are victims of fear. Some are afraid of not getting married, some are afraid of where the next meal will come from, some are afraid of dying untimely and some afraid but does not even know why they are afraid.

To overcome fear, you must have adequate knowledge of God’s Word.

Proverbs 24:5 – A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

When knowledge comes, strength comes as well.

Daniel 11:32 – And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

So when you know God, no devil will make you to panic. You cannot have God and be terrorized. Do not be terrified by your adversaries because God is always with you.

2 Corinthians 4:18 – While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Being temporal means subject to change. So, if that problem is subject to change, then it should not cause you to panic. Whatever you are seeing now is subject to change with the word of God; therefore, you have no need to be afraid. The eternal things controls the temporal thing.

2 Peter 1:3-4 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

When you partake of the divine nature of God, the things that happen to the world is not permitted to happen to you but you cannot partake of this divine nature without adequate knowledge of God’s word. What is making you to fear is the same thing that someone is laughing over.

God cannot be killed, neither can He starve but you need to have this knowledge to be a partaker of this same nature of God; and when that knowledge comes, nothing harasses you.

You should be enjoying the best of your life here on earth. The only lack in the world is lack of faith. If you walk by faith, you cannot live in lack. You must accept responsibility for your faith to produce.

Psalm 34:7 – The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

Angels are your divine guards and messengers. They excel in strength – they are stronger in security work than the highest military force. They are there to protect you. Though invisible, they are more real than the visible security men you have around you. The reason you are still victim of evil is because of the wrong words you speak because the angels hearken to what you speak.

2 Kings 6:15-17 – “15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? 16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”

If you see the number of angels protecting you, you will not be talking anyhow. The angels are your security guards. Every day and night, release them to work for you. They are invisible forces that make you untouchable and unkillable. You are not to worship them; they are your own messengers. If angels envy you, why will you allow someone to pity you?

Matthew 28:20 – Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Today, begin to enjoy divine protection and all the benefits of redemption as you deal with the spirit of fear in Jesus name!

God bless you.
