Topic: God’s Call [Open Heavens for Teens 22 May 2019]

Memorise: “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” – John 7:37

Read: John 7:37-39

37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Bible In One Year: 1 Chronicles 6-7, John 8:21-36

MESSAGE:

God’s call is all encompassing. When He called on erstwhile blind Bartimaeus, it was obvious that good things were about to follow him. First, after that call, Bartimaeus threw away his garment of sorrow, then, he got his instant healing. The sane fellow who had been dependent on people had begging daily suddenly became independent. The same people who had despised him and asked him to keep quiet were the ones who cheered him when his healing came. Indeed, God’s call is to rest and favour.
In addition, God calls into satisfaction; Hr invites you to come and drink so quench your thirst. There are many who do not know the meaning satisfaction. They have money to buy all they want, yet, they are not satisfied. Money cannot buy satisfaction. It is only in Jesus that anyone can find satisfaction. Genuinely accept the call of Jesus today and enjoy all that is in store for you.

Key Point:
If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ into your life, heed His call today. Kneel down and humbly ask Him to come into your life.

Hymn 2:

1 When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for theres no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2 Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3 Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4 But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5 Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
