Topic: Differences in Male and Female (Part 3)

Dear Reader,

You are welcome to another exciting moment in God’s presence! I started this teaching by explaining the differences between male and female. Today, I shall be teaching on ‘his needs’. Before marriage, most men already have in mind the kind of attributes they need in their wives. I don’t think any man will ever wish to marry a lazy and dirty woman for example. No man will wish to marry a wife that is disrespectful. Every man will always wish to marry a good wife.

He Needs a Respectful and submissive wife

Just what like oxygen is to a human being, respect from the wife is highly treasured by the husband. As a wife, you need to respect and reverence your husband in every way. Just like a human being cannot survive without oxygen, the same way a man, a husband in a home cannot survive without respect from his wife. If women have an understanding of this, you will learn to respect your husband. Receive a greater grace to begin to respect your husband. And as you begin to do so, you will enjoy greater harmony in your home.

In God’s divine order, submission from a wife to her husband is a necessary requirement for making marriage work. It is a commandment from God, the originator of marriage. From scripture, we understand that His commandments are not grievous. God’s Word says: Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the Saviour of the body. Therefore, as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. (Ephesians 5:22-24).

Submission means willingly putting oneself under the authority of another. God’s Word says: Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee (Genesis 3:16). When a woman purposes to willingly put herself under the control or authority of her husband, she is obeying God’s command and she cannot miss her reward (Proverbs 13:13).

As a submissive wife, your submission must come from your heart by your words, action and must be absolute, otherwise, your submission could be regarded as fake. A lot of women find it difficult to submit because the Word of God has not really gained entrance into their hearts. You may hear a message on submission and receive it with joy, but you need to let it sink into your heart. I want to let you know that until submission takes root in your heart, it does not last. You may submit for a little while but later revert to your former rebellious ways. Receive the Word, keep it and work at it with patience, until your fruits begin to show (Luke 8:15). God watches over the heart, so you must keep your heart with all diligence.

The state of your heart determines the words of your mouth; rebellious thoughts lead to rebellious acts. Therefore, submission must be in thought, word and action. One key you can employ to help your thought life is to watch what you spend your time reading and listening to, feed your eyes upon and of course, the company you keep.

You must be willing to separate from and sever all links with people and books that teach things that are contrary to those in the Holy Bible. Woman, think good about your husband. Wish him well in your thoughts, for that is where submission begins!

This testimony was shared by one of our sisters in one of our services:

“Some time in 1990, my husband lost his job and from then, our struggles started. Later, a sister in Christ gave me some money to start a business. Since then, I began to ignore the teachings of the Bishop and his wife on pride, and no longer respected my husband. I insulted him whenever he talked to me because I was the one fending for the family. He began to complain of the way I talked to him, saying that there was no sign to show that I was born again, that I now was behaving like one of the worldly women. Yesterday, I came for the International Women Convention, and there was a miming presentation on the use of the tongue. I learnt how to speak correctly to my husband, and regretted the indecent ways I had treated him in the past. On reaching home, I knelt down to greet him and he was surprised because I had not done that before. There and then, he believed that something good would come out of the convention. Formerly, whenever he wanted us to have our morning prayers, I would shun him and tell him to say his own prayers, that I would pray whenever it pleased me. But this morning, I was the one that woke him and the children up for prayers.” -Omotosho, O.

Do you want God to transform your marriage? Why not surrender your life to Christ so you can have all it takes to have a successful home. If you want to become a born again child of God, then say this prayer: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the blissful God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
