YOUTHS, PRAY LIKE JABEZ
MEMORY VERSE: “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted Him that which he requested” (1 CHRONICLES 4:10).
TEXT: 1 CHRONICLES 4:9-10.
The importance of prayer in the life of a Christian Youth is non-contestable, as the Lord Jesus Christ Himself gave a classical parable on the persistent widow. He said, “…that men ought always to pray, and not to faint…” (Luke 18:1). Persistent prayer can transform the lives and situations of God’s children. Prayer is a positive transmission link between humans and God. Apostle Paul, through the Holy Spirit said to all Christians, “Pray without ceasing” (1Thessalonias 5:17). Jabez, after realizing his challenges arising from the circumstance of his birth, prayed and God granted his petitions (1 Chronicles 4:10).
The prayer of Jabez is very inspiring and instructive to Christian youths in all situations. When you have overwhelming challenges like Jabez, just pray as he did and victory is sure. Financial need, and fear in your heart concerning a bad situation in your family, can all be handled successfully by God. Ask in faith and you will receive (Matthew 7:7). Are you not a child of God yet? If your answer is yes, receive Jesus now for the power to become one.
QUOTE: God granted his petitions
CHALLENGE: Bring your problems to God for solution.
PRAYER: Almighty God, help me to pray like Jabez, in Jesus’ name.
