REAL YOUTHFUL STRENGHT

MEMORY VERSE: “I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one” (I John 2:14b).

TEXT: 1 JOHN 2:12-14

Youthful stage in life is a period of hyperactivity, curiosity and risk-taking, being characterised by very high physical, emotional and intellectual energy levels. Unfortunately, many youths waste these enormous resources, being deluded in their pursuit of vanity of this life. Yet, the true strength of youth is hidden in the Word of God and by it all potentials are positively exploited. In the Bible, we read that Samson had enormous strength and by it killed many of the Philistines, the avowed enemies of Israel. However, the Christian youth should devote their strength towards overcoming temptations and winning of souls for God’s kingdom.

Thus, Mathew Henry declares: “The flower of youth never appears more beautiful than when it bends toward the Sun of righteousness.” Indeed, those youth are wise who would discover the real strength of youth by embracing the Lord Jesus Christ, the Word of God, and exercising faith in His promises. God has endowed every youth with strength to cope with situations of life, be you a student or a worker in any profession.

PRAYER: Father, help me to serve you in my youth with all my life.

CHALLENGE: real strength through God’s Word
