AFTER SALVATION, WHAT NEXT?

MEMORY VERSE: As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious” (1 PETER 2:2-3).

TEXT: 1 PETER 2:1-5.

Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary says, “Salvation is a free gift from God that rescues the believer from sin and its consequences, renews the believer to a holy life, and restores the believer to a right relationship with God for all eternity.” To be saved is to become a new babe in Christ. Salvation, however, is not the end of the journey. After salvation, the saved soul begins to walk with Christ till the end of life. John Riper asserts, “There is a spiritual diet without which no Christian can be strong, healthy and fruitful, that is, the Word of God. Without it, you starve every grace that God means for you to thrive in His world.” Are you feeding on God’s Word?

As a Christian, strive to know more of Christ through His Word. Knowing and growing in Christ promotes intimacy with Him. You cannot survive the Christian race without God’s Word. Give yourself to the Word and obey all its precepts. Pray always, fellowship with fellow Christians, and witness to unbelieving youths, for every Christian is a missionary.

QUOTE: Obey the whole counsel of God

CHALLENGE: You cannot survive without God’s Word

PRAYER FOR TODAY: O God, give me passion for your Word in Jesus’ name.
