A LOT REMAINS TO BE LEARNT – PART 1

MEMORY VERSE: “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased” (Daniel 12: 4).

TEXT: DANIEL 1:3-7

Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian polymath (an individual whose knowledge spans a significant number of subjects) who lived in mid-fifteenth century. His most famous painting, the Mona Lisa, is still the most popular portrait ever made. He was a scientist, an artist, an inventor, an architect and an engineer. Like Leonardo da Vinci, Daniel and his friends were enrolled in a special school to learn different branches of knowledge, including science and the arts.

Learning is very important for personal growth and development. Learning helps us to understand the world better and live life to its fullest. As the Scripture indicates, the world today is shifting towards a knowledge-based economy. This means that there is a tendency towards greater dependence on knowledge. The coming of the Internet and the growth of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has brought rapid increase in knowledge and all learning is inter-disciplinary. However, there is yet more to be learnt in this end time. You must also learn of Christ who is meek and lowly in heart without whom there is no eternal life.

PRAYER: Lord, grant unto me your hidden wisdom.

CHALLENGE: There is a shift towards knowledge-based economy.
