PURSUE, RESCUE AND RECOVER

TEXT: 1 SAMUEL 30:8-19

MEMORY VERSE: “And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all” (1 SAMUEL 30:8).

It was John Maxwell who said, “Successful leaders have the courage to take action while others hesitate.” This was exactly what panned out in the Bible text that we are considering today.

David acted fast while others were still weeping. Hence, Napoleon Hill said, “A quitter never wins and a winner never quits.” Breakthrough and recovery of losses belong to the brave and the non-quitters.

King David became distressed because of the enemies that carted away his possessions and those of his men in Ziklag before he came back from the warfront. He wept sore and became more discouraged when his people talked of stoning him.

David was never a quitter. He encouraged himself in the Lord, sought counsel from Him and rose up to the challenge. He pursued the enemies and recovered all his losses.

Are you down because of failure in your studies or any undertaking? Never give up! Seek the face of God and put your best into it again. You will make it and recover all.
