JOT DOWN NOTES

Key Verse: On that night could not the King sleep and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king. And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus (Esther 6:1-2)

TEXT: Esther 6:1-10

“The Faintest ink is better than the strongest memory,” says an Ancient Chinese proverb. Inferring from our passage of consideration this morning, we discover the importance of jotting down notes. The good deed of Mordecai would not have been remembered and duly rewarded by the king, Ahasuerus if it was not jotted down in the book of record. The evil plot and scheming of Haman against Mordecai and the Jews were aborted because of a good record keeping.

Information that is written down can easily be re-visited and referred to as long as it is well documented. However, it is said that, “What you do not write, you might easily forget.” In today’s digital world, jotting has been made easy; you can use your smart phone device to write down things that are important to you. Do you know that even God originated writing as a method to record our deeds on earth for reward or judgment on the last day? (Revelation 20:12). Start writing and stand to enjoy its benefits.

QUOTE: God originated writing

CHALLENGE: Cultivate the habit of jotting down notes always.

PRAYER: Oh God, help me to cultivate the habit of note jotting in Jesus’ name
