PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Leaders should let members have the understanding that great things can still come out of Nazareth, if we can run away from sin.

TODAY’S LESSON

A. MEMORY VERSE: “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty” 1Cor. 1:27

B. BIBLE TEXT: JUDGES 6:14-16

  1. And the LORD looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hands of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?
  2. And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.
  3. And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.

C. LESSON INTRODUCTION: What does the term insignificant denote? It denotes not important, inconsequential or having no noticeable effect. Gideon in today’s text had this to say “And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? Behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” Judges 6:15. He (Gideon) saw himself unfit to deliver Israelites from the hands of the Midianites. However, God still insisted that he had been chosen to be their deliverer.
