PRAYER POINT: Father, please give me the grace to forgive anyone that offends me.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Leader should ask the members whether they still doubt the Word of God.

BIBLE PASSAGE: Mathew 5:23-24, Matthew 6:14-15, Mark 11:25 (KJV)

Mathew 5:23-24;
23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

Matthew 6:14-15;
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Mark 11:25; And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

i. Forgiving others is a command not a choice.

ii. Forgiveness attract a lot of blessings from God.

INTRODUCTION:

To forgive means to let go of an offence, to pardon, to waive any negative feeling or desire for punishment, to acquit the accused of a crime and Set him/her at liberty without pressing any claim Matthew 18:25-27. Living a forgiven is God’s expectation of all His children so as to receive forgiveness from Him. We all need to regularly ask God in prayer to give us the spirit of forgiveness.

WHY SHOULD WE FORGIVE ONE ANOTHER?

WE SHOULD FORGIVE BECAUSE:

  1. Forgiveness is a condition for us to make Heaven.
    Hebrews 12:14.
  2. Forgiveness is a command from God.
    Luke 17:3-4.
  3. God defends those who forgive.
    Romans 12:19.
  4. Unforgiving attitude hinders answers prayer.
    Matthew 5:24, James 5:16.
  5. Unforgiving attitude leads to bitterness of heart and in turn results in ill health.
    Proverbs 17:22.
  6. Unforgiving attitude opens the door to demonic attack.
    1 Samuel 18:8-11
  7. Unforgiving attitude prevents us from benefiting from the cleansing power of Jesus.
    1 John 1:7-9.

ACTIVITY:
Can any Christian who refuses to forgive go to Heaven?

SUMMARY:
Forgive so that Your Heavenly Father will forgive you.

CONCLUSION:
Do you still keep the record of wrongs done to to you in the black book of your mind? This can rob you of God’s presence and it is also capable of nullifying all your efforts towards making Heaven. There is need to forgive and release those you have vowed not to forgive so that you can make Heaven at last.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Thank God for your salvation
  2. Ask God to destroy every unforgiving attitude in you and give you the spirit of forgiveness.
  3. Pray for the rapid growth of RCCG spiritually, numerically and materially.
  4. Pray for Daddy G.O and his family intensely.
  5. Personal prayer requests.

ASSIGNMENT:
Diligently carry out all the daily tasks outlined in the Golden diet below.

MONDAY: Luke 17:13
Be kind and forgive.

TUESDAY: Matthew 6:14.
Keep forgiving

WEDNESDAY: 1 Corinthians 15:3
Always remember that Christ died for your sins.

THURSDAY: Hebrews 12:14.
Follow peace with all men.

FRIDAY: Matthew 11:25.
There is danger in not forgiving one another as Christians.

SATURDAY: Matthew 6:12
Pray that God will always give you the grace to forgive.

SUNDAY: Matthew 18:22.
Forgive as many times as possible.
