MEMORY VERSE: But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. – Psalm 22:3

BIBLE TEXT: Acts 16:22-28 (KJV)

22 And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

23 And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

24 Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.

28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.

INTRODUCTION: This topic is an age-long message and because it has been preached often, most Christians these days are no longer taking it serious. By so doing, they are still struggling with their problems. These problems would have been long settled, if they have heeded and strictly adhered to this instruction and admonition from God.

LEADERS DIARY:

ii. God is ever committed to worshippers.

TEACHING METHOD: Discussion method.

TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time using the suggested time schedule.

LESSON OUTLINE:

THE BENEFITS OF PRAISING GOD:

There are a lot of benefits attached when we decide from the depth of our hearts to praise God, not paying lips service (i.e. not praising Him in spirit. – John 4:23-24), then God will inevitably show up. – 2 Chronicles 20:22

THESE ARE THE BENEFITS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THESE ALONE:
(i) God will discomfit all your enemies. – 2 Chronicles 20:23-24
(ii) Wealth immediately changes hands. – 2 Chronicles 20:25
(iii) Prison’s gates and doors open on their own accord. – Acts 16:25-26
(iv) You will increase in all sides. – Psalm 67:5-6
(v) Unbelievers around you will begin to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. – Acts 16:28-31 etc.

ACTIVITY: Mention those in the bible who praised God and miracle took place.

SUMMARY: As a believer in Christ don’t stop praising God.

CONCLUSION:
Our today’s memory verse says that God inhabits the praises of His people. What is ‘inhabits’? The meaning is that God ‘dwells’ where His people are praising Him. Inferably, this means that when you praise God, your life immediately and automatically becomes God’s dwelling place (it is heaven on earth). However this will not happen if you are not living holy. – 1 Peter 1:15

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Thank Him for the salvation of your soul.
  2. Father, in anyway I have been doubting your word, please show me Your mercy.
  3. Let sacrifices of praise fill the air in all our parishes.
  4. Father, make the walls of Daddy G.O. praise and make his gates praise salvation.
  5. Our individual prayer today is: Lord, fill my lips with Your praises.
