TOPIC: REVISION 4

LESSON TWENTY (20)
TOPIC: ATTRACTING GOD’S BLESSINGS 3 (THE FAITHFUL)

BIBLE TEXT: Luke 16:10-12; 1 Corinthians 15:58

MEMORY VERSE: Moreover, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful’ 1 Corinthians 4:2

LESSON AIM: At the end of the study, teens should learn how to be more faithful.

CENTRAL TRUTH: Teenagers are to be faithful in all their dealings with others and in serving God.

INTRODUCTION: Faithfulness is being trust worthy, loyal or true to somebody or a cause (something). Our God is faithful and for you to attract His blessings, you must be faithful in dealing with Him. As a Christian, it is important to be faithful to God; It is one thing to simply believe in Him, but another to be faithful to Him. When we are truly faithful to God, this shapes the way we live. For example, we are able to loyal in our relationships here on Earth and truly love others. Faithfulness requires us to submit our ways to God. It comes from a place of realizing that we are in need of a Savior and that He is in control of our lives

STUDY GUIDE
A. Discuss faithfulness using 1 Cor 15:58

  • BE STEADFAST: That means to be firm and uncompromising in whatever you are doing
  • UNMOVABLE: Don’t let anything move you not even your best friend or situations.
  • ABOUNDING IN THE WORKS OF THE LORD: Being full of services to God as required. Continue to work and render services to God.
  • YOUR LABOR WILL BE REWARDED BY GOD: God will pay you back

B. DISCUSS HOW TO BE FAITHFUL IN THE FOLLOWING:

  • Your school work: Pay attention to your studies and class assignment. Do your work promptly. Avoid cheating in examination/exam malpractice, etc.
  • Your Christian life: Pray, Study the word, live a holy life, attend fellowship, etc. Phil 2:12
  • Works: Any work you have to do, do it as unto God. Don’t defraud others Luke 16:12. God keeps records of your deeds.

C. REWARDS OR BLESSINGS OF 0FAITHFULNESS:

  • Joy Jeremiah 31:13
  • Peace Phil 4:7
  • Eternal life Rev 4:5, 22:12
  • Promotion Luke 16:10-12

LIFE APPLICATION: Begin to be faithful in little things and gradually begin to be faithful in bigger things.

CONCLUSION: If you must be blessed, learn to be faithful in all things. Do your best always in all things by showing commitment, hard work sincerity and loyalty.

LESSON TWENTY ONE (21)
TOPIC: ATTRACTING GOD’S BLESSINGS (THE DILIGENT)
BIBLE TEXT: GENESIS 26:1-17

MEMORY VERSE: “He becometh poor that dealeth with a sick hand, but the hand of the diligent maketh” Proverbs 4:10

LESSON AIM: At the end of the lesson, teens should learn how to be diligent in all they do.

CENTRAL TRUTH: Being diligent is rewarding

INTRODUCTION: Diligence is the ability to be consistent in whatsoever one is doing. Diligence is the opposite of slothfulness. It is the dedicated service God calls us to invest in each task that, we perform. “Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord Christ (Colossians 3:23-24)

Through Jesus Christ, God graciously provides believers with the strength needed to be diligent

STUDY GUIDE
A. Gen 26 vs 13 says Isaac was very great. What was the secret of his success?

  • Isaac obeyed God’s instruction vs 2
  • He trusted God and held unto God’s promises vs 2-4
  • Isaac was hard working – He sowed in the land vs 12
  • Isaac continued sowing and he became very great. Vs 13
  • His greatness attracted envy vs 16
  • Though he was sent out of his place of abode, he pitched his tent at a valley and dug a well in that place vs 17-18
  • Isaac had servants who were also diligent

B. Isaac was diligent, mention areas you can be diligent as a teenage.
Teacher should allow them discuss their answers in small group and present generally in class.

  • In serving God
  • In our studies
  • In helping our parents
  • In starting establish ourselves with something such as learning handwork, business, extra courses or training, etc

C. Rewards for the Diligent: God promises to reward the diligent with blessings, including the following:

  • Fulfillment (Proverbs 13:4).
  • Resourcefulness and creativity (Proverbs 21:5).
  • Favour (Proverbs 11:27).
  • Honour (Proverbs 22:29).
  • Authority (Proverbs 12:24)
  • Enjoyment of possessions (Proverbs 12:27).
  • Riches (Proverbs 10:4)

For the glory of God, take up the call to be diligent, remembering God’s provision tor you. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13)

Activity: Let them discuss Proverbs 22:29.

CONCLUSION: Whatsoever your hands find to do, do it with all your heart and all your might till you achieve success (Eccl. 9:10). If you are not diligent, you will be blamed at the end of the day. God can only bless what is in your hand. God can only bless what is in your hand.

LESSON TWENTY TWO (22)
TOPIC: ATTRACTING GOD’S BLESSINGS (THE GIVER)
BIBLE TEXT: 1 Chron. 22:14-19; Matt. 6:19-21

MEMORY VERSE: “Give, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running Over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” Luke 6:38

LESSON AIM: At the end of the study, teens should earn how to give to God and men to attract God’s blessings.

CENTRAL TRUTH: Giving is God’s way of blessing His children/the givers. Giving is a command so, learn to give.

INTRODUCTION: Giving is the act of sharing things with others especially those that don’t have. God is the originator ot giving – John 3:16. God shows us the way to give – Romans 8:32. Obedience and compliance to the principles of God attract His blessings. The bible says it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). The Lord loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 2:7). lt delights Him to see His children gladly opening their hearts and hands to provide for the needs of His Church. Through Apostle Paul, God repeatedly commends and praises those who gave of their funds and ot themselves to God’s work (2 Corinthians 8:1).

STUDY GUIDE
A. A RARE GIVER – DAVID

  • The man David is a good example of a giver who was blessed and he challenged others to give to the Lord.
  • Though David was not the builder (Solomon), he provided the needed materials.
  • David delighted in giving substantially and sacrificially. 2 Samuel 24:24
  • David gave gold, silver and bronze that could not be weighed bountifully, not casually.
  • He gave his talent by playing his flute for king Saul – his enemy.

B. WHAT TO GIVE:

  • First fruits – Proverbs 3:9
  • Offering/general giving: To receive blessings from giving offering, it must be given willingly and with a cheerful heart – 1 Chronicles 29:14; Exodus 35:4-5. The giving that is done in secret attracts blessings – Matthew 6:1-4
  • Tithes: One tenth of earnings belong to God. It’s a curse to withhold it and not pay. Malachi 3:10-12; Leviticus 27:30; Deuteronomy 14:22-23
  • Service: Serving God with one’s talents also brings blessings. God is pleased with teenagers who make use of their potentials in serving Him. For example, those who serve in choir, alter workers, sanitation service and others.
  • Sharing what you have with others is indirectly giving to God and such also attract blessings to the giver. For example; clothes, shoes, food, accommodation, time etc.

C. LESSONS TO LEARN ABOUT GIVING:

  • Do not announce what you give. Matthew 6:1
  • Do not regret after giving. Luke 6:30
  • God is happy with those who give sacrificially. Hebrews 13:16
  • Give what is good. Malachi 1:7-8
  • Giving is compared to lending to God, He pays back. Proverbs 19:17
  • Do not give to those who will reward you. Luke 6:34
  • God gives you back according to the measure you give out. Luke 6:38
  • The giver is richer than those who withhold or don’t give. Proverbs 11:24

D. SOME REWARDS OF GIVING:

  • Giving brings joy to the giver. 1 Chronicles 29:9
  • It makes the giver richer. Proverbs 11:24-25
  • The giver receives from others. Luke 6:38
  • Giving brings blessings from God. Malachi 3:10

LIFE APPLICATION: Start practicing giving from today no matter how small.

CONCLUSION: It is wise to give when the gift will be useful and acceptable. Some gifts arrive late and can’t meet desired needs because they are belated. May the opportunity to give and receive blessings not pass us in Jesus’ Name. lt is commonly said that GIVERS DON’T LACK.

LESSON TWENTY THREE (23)
TOPIC: ATTRACTING GOD’S BLESSINGS (THROUGH DIVINE FAVOUR)
BIBLE TEXT: Esther 2:1-17

MEMORY VERSE: ‘A good man obtained favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn’ Proverbs 12:2.

LESSON AIM: At the end of the study, will know better ways of attracting God’s divine favour.

CENTRAL TRUTH: The favour of God is free and by God’s mercy, we didn’t do anything to merit it.

INTRODUCTION: You have may have experienced both rejection and favour at some point in Iife, and you know which of these two you like better. You were created to experience favour, and that is why rejection is something you naturally attempt to get rid of, if it tries to affect your life. Favour has many benefits. Favour opens doors to opportunities for you. Favour can deliver you from isolation, and favour attracts many blessings to you. In fact, favour is like a blessing magnet, and it is one of God’s wonderful gifts freely given to you. He wants you to experience His favour! Favour is what God gives to a man when he is singled out for good things that he didn’t work for. Romans 9:16. Anything you have received that is not by works like good parents, good family, etc is God’s favour. You can neither choose your parents nor your family.

STUDY GUIDE
Lessons from our text (Esther 2:1-17):
A. God can use anything or anyone to favour you
B. God can cause unpleasant situation to favour you
C. When God decided to favour you, race, colour, status is immaterial
D. God can single you out among many to favour you
E. When God favours you, you will be loved and favoured by everyone.

Other Examples of people that obtained favour from God:

  1. Ruth – God caused her to receive favour from Boaz- Ruth 2:10
  2. Noah found favour with the Lord. Genesis 6:8
  3. Joseph experienced favour because the Lord was with him. Genesis 39:21
  4. The Children of Israel found favour with the Egyptians because the Lord gave it to them. Exodus 11:3
  5. Moses found favour in the sight of God.

ACTIVITY: What can you do to obtain God’s favour?

CONCLUSION: Many maidens were brought to the king but only one was chosen because the favour of God was upon her. Esther 2:17. Nobody could reject her from the beginning to end. May we also receive favour from God.

LESSON TWENTY FOUR (24)
TOPIC: SEEK GOD’S BLESSINGS
BIBLE TEXT: Matt 6:33

MEMORY VERSE: If ye then, being evil know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Matthew 7:11

LESSON AIM: After this study, teens should know the ways to seek for God’s blessings.

CENTRAL TRUTH: God blesses those who seek Him first.

INTRODUCTION: The grace of God is sufficient for you to seek Godly blessings as against the get rich quick scramble in today’s world. When you seek God first, all other blessings automatically are made available to you with ease. We all want God’s blessing. but note that it is not automatic! We must diligently seek it The Bible is abundantly clear that God is ready to pour out His blessing on His people, but only when we order our lives rightly before Him and seek God Himself as the supreme blessing.

STUDY GUIDE
A. HOW TO SEEK GOD AND HIS BLESSINGS

  1. Trust Him and have faith in Him – Proverbs 3:5-6.
  2. Don’t be anxious over anything – Philippians 4:6-7.
  3. Seek God through praises Psalm 100:1-5
  4. Read the Bible regularly/daily. Joshua 1:8
  5. Obey His commandments. Deut 28:1-2
  6. Determine to use it for God
  7. Live a holy and righteous life. Matthew 6:33

  • Keeping bad friends
  • Peer group meeting

ACTIVITY: How can we divert our attention to seek God?

LIFE APPLICATION: Begin to seek God and His righteousness and you will be blessed beyond your dreams.

CONCLUSION: Seeking God and putting Him first will allow the Holy Spirit to direct your ways against Satan who always tries to make you miss the blessings of God in your life. There are blessings in seeking God early.
