TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE BLESSING OF HOLY SPIRIT (GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT)

BIBLE TEXT: John 14:25-27, Act 2
John 14:25-27
[25]These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
[26]But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
[27]Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

MEMORY VERSE: JOHN 14:16 And I will pray the Father and He will give you another comforter that He may abide with you
forever.

LESSON AIM: The Holy Spirit is a blessing of God to us.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: You need the Holy Spirit.

INTRODUCTIONS: The Holy Spirit the third Person of the trinity, He is a gift from God promised to be released to every believer who asked. Jesus told the Disciples they will receive this gift as He is going back to heaven. It was fulfilled at the upper room on the day of Pentecost Acts 2. The Holy Spirit is
the comforter and teacher. The Holy Spirit was evident in the life of Jesus Christ at His baptism in River Jordan He came down as a dove.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
JOHN 14:25-27
A. Jesus told His disciple that they will receive the Helper, The Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in His name. John 14:25a
B. He, The Holy Spirit will teach you things and bring to your remembrance all things that I have said to you vs.25b The Holy Spirit is a teacher and a comforter and the promise of
God to all His children. He is the power of God in the life of God’s children. Jesus Christ was also full of Holy Spirit and Power.
C.In Act 1:4-5 “And being assembled together with them. He (Jesus Christ) commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem but to wait to receive the promise of the Father
which is the Holy Spirit”
D. In Act 2:1-47. People from many countries had come to Jerusalem for the day of Pentecost and the disciples were also gathered together in Jerusalem vs 1-3. Suddenly God sent the Holy Spirit. There was a sound like a mighty rushing wind. What looked like little tongues of fire appeared; and the disciple began to speak in other languages vs 5-7
E. Peter explained that ability to speak in other languages was evident of the Holy Spirit God had promised to send.

CLIMAX: Empowered by the Holy Spirit. Peter preached boldly and the people were convicted by God’s Spirit and asked Peter what they should do. Peter told them to turn away from their sin and be saved.
(Ask God for the Holy Spirit to become bold to witness for Jesus).

CONCLUSION: About three thousand people were saved that day and Peter witnessed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

CHALLENGE: The Holy Spirit is the power and helper of every child of God. Ask for the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.

INVITATION: Receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour today. Acts 16:31.

LESSON EIGHT (08)
TOPIC: WAYS GOD BLESSES A MAN (GOOD HEALTH)

BIBLE TEXT: Deuteronomy 34:7,

7. Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished.

Luke 13:10-17
10 Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.
11 And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up.
12 But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.”
13 And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
14 But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.”
15 The Lord then answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?
16 So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound–think of it–for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”
17 And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.

MEMORY VERSE: 3 John 1:2 “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

LESSON AIM: God is the giver of good health. 

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Your good health is a blessing from God.

INTRODUCTION: Health is a state of wellbeing; physically, mentally and emotionally. Jesus Christ is the health giver Psalm 147:3. When sin came to the world sickness and disease came. In other words some sicknesses are an attack of the devil or as a result of disobedience, but Jesus came to take away our diseases. Isaiah 53:5, John 10:10. Gods plan for us His children Is to live in perfect health, if you are sick come to Jesus and ask God for your healing now. Exodus 15:26.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS:  Luke 13:10-17
A. Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath.

B. Behold there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eight years and could in no way raise herself up. (She was in a sick condition) that could be someone or something in your life in the same situation that makes you unhappy or takes away your joy. It could be sin. Romans 3:23. Sin separates you from God and there are consequences for it.

C. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to him and said to her: “woman you are loosed from your infirmity”. And he laid his hands on her and immediately she was made straight and she glorified God. Jesus showed love and compassion for the woman the same way God loves you and does not want you to remain in sin, so he sent Jesus to you to take away your sins or sickness. God through the blood of Jesus has released the blessing of good health to his children.

D. But the ruler of the synagogue answered with anger because Jesus healed on the Sabbath.

E. The Lord then answered him and said: “hypocrites! does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the store and lead it away to water it?”

CLIMAX: “So ought not this woman being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan has bound for eight years be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”

CONCLUSION: And when he said these things all his adversaries were put to shame and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him. 

*CHALLENGE: God does not want anyone to be sick or have infirmity  Jesus has paid the price for you and I to live in good health. Healing and health is our bread. As a child of God always claim your perfect health.

INVITATION: Jesus is the giver of good health, receive him as your Lord and saviour. John 1:12

LESSON NINE (09)
TOPIC: WAYS GOD BLESSES A MAN (SPIRITUAL BLESSING)

BIBLE TEXT: Mathew 16:13-19
[13]When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
[14]And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
[15]He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
[16]And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
[17]And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
[18]And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
[19]And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

MEMORY VERSE: Daniel 11:32. “But the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits”

LESSON AIM: God is the giver of spiritual blessing.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: God want you to be spiritual blessed.

INTRODUCTION: Spiritual blessing comes from God, God wants to empower His children so that they can be a blessing to
the world. Jeremiah 17:10. There are many spiritual gifts you can receive from God. 1 Corinthians 12:1-12. To receive any or all of these gifts you must be saved, you must believe and ask in faith.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS – Matthew 16:13-14
A. When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi He asked His disciple, saying “who do men say that I, the son of man am?
B. So they said “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets. Wow! They do not know Jesus. Do you too know Jesus as the Saviour of your life? Jesus came to save you and I from our sins. Romans 3:23 we are all sinners and our sins separates us from God and the punishment for sin is death but Jesus came to free you and I from the punishment of our sin.
C. He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?
D. Simon Peter answered and said ” You are the Christ, the so of the Living God”.
E. Jesus answered and said to him “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but my father who is in heaven”. God wants you to know His Son Jesus Christ whom He sent to the world to save you from your sin. God loves you and does not want you to be separated from Him or die in your sin so He gave Jesus to die in your place. John 3:16. You have to know Jesus and call on Him to save you.

CLIMAX: And I also say to you that you are Peter and on this Rock I will build my church and the gate of hell will not prevail against it. Jesus empowered Peter spiritually because Peter knew Him. Do you want to be blessed spiritually? Then, you have to know Jesus.

CONCLUSION:”And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven'”. Then he commanded His disciple not to tell anyone
that He was Jesus Christ. Peter received spiritual blessing and also great power, no wonder He did great things. Jesus told the
disciple not to tell people who He is because his time of manifestation had not come.

CHALLENGE: As a child of God, the more of Jesus you know the more spiritual blessing you get. How do you know more of Jesus? Read your Bible, obey the word of God, Trust and have faith in God.

INVITATION: How do you get spiritual blessing? Receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour today John 1:12

LESSON TEN (10)
TOPIC: WAYS GOD BLESSES A MAN  (LONG LIFE)

BIBLE TEXT: lI Kings 20:1-11
[1]In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.
[2]Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,
[3]I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
[4]And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,
[5]Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.
[6]And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
[7]And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.
[8]And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?
[9]And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?
[10]And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.
[11]And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 91:16 “with long life will I satisfy him and shew him my salvation.”

LESSON AIM: God is the giver of long life.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Obey God’s word and ask God for long life.

INTRODUCTION: Long life is by special grace from God according to Psalm 91:16. God also promised us long life in Exo. 20:12, Ephesians 6:2, “Honor thy father and thy mother that thy days may be long”. God wants you to live a healthy long life so He gave you the commandments. Colossians 3:20 says obey your parents in all things, when you obey
instructions on healthy living and God’s word you will enjoy long life.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
A. In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And prophet Isaiah said to him “Thus says the Lord set your house in order for you shall die and not live”. Death Is a terrible thing, there is also a more terrible condition which is sin, these two bring separation from God especially if a sinner dies. Romans 3:23, 6:23.
B. Then he turned his face towards the wall and prayed to the Lord. He cried bitterly and told God to remember how he had walked before him in truth and with a loyal heart. What is the condition of your heart before God? Do you know God? Does God know you? Can you challenge God like King Hezekiah?
C. And it happened before Isaiah had gone far the word of the Lord came to him to go back and tell King Hezekiah that the Lord said “I have heard your prayers, I have seen your
tears, I will help you and add to your days fifteen years. God loved Hezekiah, heard and answered his prayers by lengthen his days. That same God loves you and want to bless you with long life John 3:16 so talk to him now.
D. God also promise to deliver him and the city from the hand of king Assyria and defend the city.
E. Then Isaiah told him to take a lump of figs and laid it on the oil and he recovered.
E The blood of Jesus that he shed on the cross is the healing for your sin, sickness and whatever trouble you have. Hebrew 9:22b.

CLIMAX: And Hezekiah said to Isaiah “What is the sign that the Lord will heal me and that I shall go up to the house of the Lord the
third day”.

CONCLUSION: God gave a sign by bringing the shadow ten degrees backward.

CHALLENGE: God blesses His children with long life. If anything threatens your blessings of long life or that of anyone around you. Cry to God like king Hezekiah did and God will hear and answer our prayer according to His promise for you in Psalm 91:16

INVITATION: Receive Jesus as your Saviour today so that you can enjoy the blessing of Long life. Romans 10:13

LESSON ELEVEN (11)
TOPIC: WAYS GOD BLESSES A MAN (WISDOM)

BIBLE TEXT: Daniel 2:1-49

MEMORY VERSE: James 1:5a “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God”.

LESSON AIM: God is the giver of wisdom.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Ask God to give you wisdom.

INTRODUCTION: Proverbs 3: 21-23 My son let them not depart from your eyes – keep sound wisdom and discretion: so they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck. Then you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble. Also Ecclesiastes 9:16a says Wisdom is better than strength. You can see that wisdom is very important in the journey of life, the word of God tells us in Proverbs 4:19a “The LORD by wisdom founded the earth. For you to succeed on earth ask God for His wisdom.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
A. Now in the second year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, he had a dream and he was troubled and could not sleep. The dream must be terrible, sin is more terrible and what is sin? Whatever you do, think or say that makes God unhappy. Romans 3:23 says we are all born in sin. Romans 6:3 say the punishment for sin is death.
B. The King called all the magicians and astrologists, the Sorcerers and Chaldeans to tell him his dream and it interpretation. He said they will to cut into pieces and their house be made an ass heap if they could not. But if they can they will receive gifts.
C. But they could not so the King ordered that all the wise men in Babylon be killed so they sought Daniel and his companion to kill them.
D. So Daniel ask for time that he might tell the king his dream and its interpretation, then he and his companions prayed to God of heaven and God revealed to Daniel the king’s dream and its interpretation in a night vision.
E. Daniel revealed the king’s dream and it interpretation to him. God gave Daniel wisdom and revelation which solved the king’s problem and also saved the lives of the magician, astrologists and the Chaldeans and sorcerers. That same way God gave you Jesus Christ the wisdom of God, if you believe you too can receive wisdom from God through Jesus Christ.

CLIMAX: King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, prostrated before Daniel and commanded that they should present an offering and incense to him.

CONCLUSION: The king said to Daniel’s “truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings and a revealer of secrets, and he promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon.

CHALLENGE: As a child of God, ask God for wisdom to excel above your mates and God will grant it to you. Mathew 7:7. Remember Daniel and his companions prayed to God for wisdom and God granted them their request

INVITATION: Receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior from sin. Romans 10:13
