SUNDAY 26TH OF DECEMBER, 2021
LESSON SEVENTEEN (17)
*TOPIC: ATTRACTING GOD’S BLESSING 1 (RIGHTEOUSNESS)

BIBLE TEXT: Genesis 6:1-9,17
[1]And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
[2]That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
[3]And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
[4]There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
[5]And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
[6]And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
[7]And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
[8]But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
[9]These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
[17]And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

MEMORY VERSE: Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.

LESSON AIM: GOD blesses the righteous.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Doing the right things attracts God’s blessings.

INTRODUCTION: Choice of position or leadership is mostly given to those of proving character and deeds.
Do all the good you can,
In all the way you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
For all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
A. When God saw how wicked people had become. He was sorry He had made them. God was grieved i.e pained that the people He had created had become so sinful and no longer love Him.
B. Noah was the only man in the society who walked with God
C. God warned Noah that He would destroy the world and instructed him to build an ark. God loved Noah because he walked with Him and He wanted to save him from destruction and to use him to preserve the earth. God also loves you and wants to save you from your sin and its punishment if you will yield yourself to Him.
D. Noah obeyed God doing all that He commanded him
E. God commanded Noah and his family to enter the ark taking with them certain species or kind of animals
F. When Noah, his family and the animals were safe in the ark, God shut the door. God had warned the people for 120 years to turn from their sins, but they had refused. There is only one place of safety. Those in the ark were safe from punishment for sin. Today there is only one way for you to be safe from punishment or your sin and it is in accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. He is God’s perfect son who took the punishment for your sin and mine when He died on the cross. Colossians 1:14 He died and rose on the third day. You can be safe in the Lord Jesus just as Noah and his family was safe in the ark.
G. God sent the flood, destroying every living thing on the earth. After several months the flood water dried up and the ark rest
on Mount Ararat (Genesis 8:1-14)
H. God commanded Noah and his family to go out of the ark (Genesis 8:15-19)

CLIMAX: Noah built an altar and offered a sacrifice to thank God for His saving protection.

CONCLUSION: God gave Noah instructions and wonderful promises for the future (9:13-17).

CHALLENGE: God presented and blessed Noah and his family because he was found righteous. As a child of God ask God to help you to keep doing right things so that you will remain blessed and a blessing because God always keep His promises.

INVITATION: Accept Jesus as your Savior today asking to change you from doing wrong and bad things and to give you power to be righteous Acts 16:31.
