SUMMARY OF LESSON 7-11
LESSON SEVEN (07)
TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE BLESSING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT)

BIBLE TEXT: Acts 1:12-2:41
Acts 1:12-26
[12]Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.
[13]And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
[14]These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
[15]And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
[16]Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
[17]For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
[18]Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
[19]And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
[20]For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
[21]Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
[22]Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
[23]And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
[24]And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
[25]That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
[26]And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

MEMORY VERSE: Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaca, and Samaria, and unto the uttemost part of
the earth.”

LESSON AIM: The children will know the importance of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

CHILD-RELATED TRUTH: You have the Holy Spirit living inside you.

INTRODUCTION:
After living His life on earth, Jesus went back to heaven. Just before leaving, He told the apostles that they had a very important job to
do. They were to go and tell everyone in the world the good news about Jesus’ resurrection, to baptize them and teach them how to be His followers.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS: Acts 1:12-2:41

  1. Jesus told the disciples to wait in Jerusalem and that soon He would send a special helper to them.
  2. He knew they would be sad to see HIm go but the special helper would be with them and give them comfort and power.
  3. The special helper would be a gift to the whole world.
  4. The group waited forty days, and then a very strong wind began to blow
  5. After the wind, the apostles saw flames come down and sit above their heads. The time had come! The helper, the Holy Spirit, had arrived.

GOSPEL CONNECTION: The bible tells us that God’s arms are not too short or His ears deaf that He cannot save us but our sins have separated us from Him. God loves us, and He showed His love to you and me by sending His Son Jesus to take the punishment of our sins. Jesus died on the cross by shedding His life-blood for our sins to be forgiven. Jesus died, was buried, and rose again. And He sent the Holy Spirit which He promised the disciples that the comforter will come (Romans 5:8-9)
When they heard all of the noise they rushed over to see what was happening. The apostles went outside into the temple area where many people were gathered.

CLIMAX: The apostles began speaking in all kinds of different languages and the people from other countries could understand and told the people about Jesus’ death and resurrection.

CONCLUSION: The people were sorry that they did not believe in Jesus before and asked Peter how to believe. Peter answered them in just the way Jesus had told him to, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

CHALLENGE: If you put your trust in Jesus as Lord and Saviour, He will give you the Holy Spirit who will give you the power to do all things. The Holy Spirit gives you the power to tell others about Jesus. He enables you to pray and also helps you to know what to pray about. The Holy Spirit also helps you with your school work and your daily chores.

INVITATION: You need to call on Jesus to be saved (Romans 10:13).

LESSON EIGHT (08)
TOPIC: WAYS GOD BLESSES A MAN (GOOD HEALTH)

BIBLE TEXT: JOHN 4:46-53
So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.
48 Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.”
49 The nobleman said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!”
50 Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!”
52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.”
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” And he himself believed, and his whole household.

MEMORY VERSE:  3 John 1: 2 “2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”.

LESSON AIM: The children will have faith in God for healing.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Jesus is the one who gives good health.

INTRODUCTION: Children! Do you like to play? (Give room for answers). If you are not feeling fine or have an injury, will you e able to go out and play? (Let the children contribute). Maybe he would like to play outside, watch TV or go to the park. But if you are not feeling well, you cannot do any of these things. A long time ago during the time, Jesus was physically here on earth, there was this little boy who was sick and could not go to do any of these things you mentioned and the father was very worried.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS:  John 4:46-53

  1. A nobleman’s son was very sick.
  2. This man heard about the amazing things Jesus was doing
    3.  The man left his home and walked a long way to find Jesus
    4.  when this man found him, he asked Jesus to come and heal his son
    5.  Jesus told him to go back home for his son was already healed
    6.  the noble man believed that Jesus could heal his son by speaking the word

GOSPEL CONNECTION: When sin entered the world came sickness and all kinds of diseases. Jesus could bless A man with good health because he is God the healer. Jesus willingly took 39 stripes for your sicknesses and diseases to be healed. The love Jesus has for you and I made him bleed and die on the cross for our sins to be forgiven and healing for you and I. Jesus came to the world he had created to bring life and blessings will be with sickness and death. Jesus was buried but came alive again on the third day.

  1. The servants ran to tell him that his son was better

CLIMAX: The noble man son was healed the same hour Jesus pronounced the healing.

CONCLUSION: The noble man and his family believed in Jesus because of the miracle of blessing his son with good health.

CHALLENGE: If you already believe in Jesus as Lord and saviour, remember he said in 3 John 2 that His wish for you is to be in good health. Remember to always thank Jesus for giving you good health and also pray for those who are sick for Jesus to heal them. Take time out this week to pray for the sick.

INVITATION: If you have never believed in Jesus as Lord and Saviour, your sin will separate you from Him. Believe in him today and be saved (Acts 16:31).

LESSON NINE (09)
TOPIC: WAYS GOD BLESSES A MAN (SPIRITUAL BLESSING)

BIBLE TEXT: 1 Samuel 3:1 -21
[1]And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.
[2]And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;
[3]And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;
[4]That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.
[5]And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.
[6]And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.
[7]Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.
[8]And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.
[9]Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
[10]And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.
[11]And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.
[12]In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end.
[13]For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.
[14]And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.
[15]And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision.
[16]Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.
[17]And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.
[18]And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good.
[19]And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.
[20]And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD.
[21]And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.

MEMORY VERSE: Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”

LESSON AIM: The children will know and listen to the voice of the Lord when He speaks to them through His word.

CHILD-RELATED TRUTH: God wants you to be blessed by listening to His word.

INTRODUCTION:
Samuel loved God and loved to help Eli, the High Priest, in the tabernacle of the Lord. Eli was old and almost blind so Samuel often
stayed near Eli in case he needed something. Eli was very proud of Samuel. Hophni and Phinehas were Eli’s sons. That would mean that Hophni or Phinehas would be the next High Priest after Eli. There was one very big problem. The people of Israel did not like Hophni and Phinehas. They were mean and sometimes stole things. They did not love the Lord and they did not obey Him. They would not be good High Priests.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS: 1 Samuel 3: 1-21

  1. One night Samuel was lying down in the tabernacle. All of a sudden, Samuel heard a voice calling his name, he quickly got up and ran to Eli’s room but Eli said, he did not call him.
  2. When it happened three times, Eli understood that it was the Lord calling Samuel and told him to say speak Lord for he is listening.
  3. When Samuel heard his name again, he told the Lord to speak for he is listening.
  4. Now the Lord began to speak to Samuel and told him that Eli’s sons would not be the next High Priests because they were too
wicked and did not love the Lord.

GOSPEL CONNECTION: Eli’s sons were sinners because the things they did were not pleasing to the Lord. YOu and I were born sinners, but for God’s love for you and me, He sent His Son Jesus to take the punishment
for our sins. Jesus died for your sins for you to be forgiven if you believe in Him. Samuel believed in the Lord and knew the difference between right and wrong (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

  1. Samuel lay back down until morning when it was time to open the tabernacle.
  2. Samuel did not want to tell Eli what the Lord had said because he knew that Eli would feel bad.
  3. But Eli told Samuel to tell him everything the Lord said and told him not to leave anything out, he was very sad but he knew that Samuel was telling the truth.

CLIMAX: After Eli died, Samuel became the High Priest. Samuel was also a Judge and a Prophet.

CONCLUSION: Samuel told many people how to love and obey God. The people of Israel always listened to Samuel because his words were wise and they were from the Lord.

CHALLENGE: What a huge burden for a young boy to carry. He must have dreaded Eli asking about the encounter. But Eli told Samuel to tell
him absolutely everything that the Lord had said. If you have already put your trust in Jesus as Lord and Saviour, He will bless you spiritually and always want you to listen to His voice because He may want to send a
message through you. God sends messages either through an audible voice, from the bible, or through dreams. Just listen and make sure it is the Lord speaking.

INVITATION: God can not send a message through you unless you trust in Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Call on Him today (Romans 10:13)

LESSON TEN (10)*
TOPIC: WAYS GOD BLESSES A MAN (LONG LIFE)

BIBLE TEXT: 2 Kings 20:1-11
[1]In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.
[2]Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, saying,
[3]I beseech thee, O LORD, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
[4]And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying,
[5]Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD.
[6]And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
[7]And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.
[8]And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day?
[9]And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?
[10]And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.
[11]And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 91:16 “With long life will satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”

LESSON AIM: The children will know that it is only God that can give long life

CHILD-RELATED TRUTH: God is the giver of life

INTRODUCTION:
When King Hezekiah became sick, the prophet Isaiah told him that he would die. Hezekiah knew that there was still a lot of
work to do in Judah. He wanted to help the country to be better. He wanted to teach the people to love God. He could not do that if he was dead! Hezekiah prayed that the Lord would give him a longer life.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS: 2 Kings 20:1-11

  1. One time King Hezekiah became very sick that he almost died.
  2. The prophet Isaiah came to visit Hezekiah and told him, “The Lord says you are going to die. So you should give your last orders
to everyone that you will not get well.”
  3. As soon as Isaiah left, Hezekiah began to pray to God. He said, “Lord, please remember that I have always obeyed You and have done what You said was right.
  4. Then Hezekiah cried loudly because he did not want to die.
  5. The Lord stopped Isaiah before he left the palace, and told him to tell the king that He had heard his prayers and will heal him and
that he will be able to go to the house of the Lord in three days.

GOSPEL CONNECTION: King Hezekiah did not want to die because he felt that he needed more time to lead the people in the ways of the Lord. God is love and wants all to obey His commandment and follow Him. God heard the prayers of the king and healed him because he did what was right in the sight of the Lord. God will hear you when you ask for things (long life, mental abilities, etc) in prayers if you have put your trust in Jesus whom He sent to die for the forgiveness of your sins (1Corinthians 15:3-4)

  1. The Lord said for His namesake and also because of David, he will add another fifteen years to his life and also promised defend the city
  2. Then, Isaiah had Hezekiah’s servants boil some figs, made a paste and spread on the king’s skin and he got better
  3. King Hezekiah wanted a sign from the Lord to be sure that he would go to the temple in three days so Isaiah asked Hezekiah, “Do you see the shadow on the steps?”
  4. Hezekiah thought for a moment, “It is easy for a shadow to go forward, so let it go back ten steps as a sign from God that He will
    keep His promise.
  5. Then Isaiah called to the Lord. God brought the shadow back ten steps and Hezekiah knew that God would make him well

CLIMAX: It happened just as the Lord said, King Hezekiah lived fifteen more years and was a good king.

CONCLUSION: Hezekiah was given the choice of whether the shadow should go back or forward ten degrees. Hezekiah chose a way that was not possible but happened just as he requested.

CHALLENGE: If you have believed in the Lord Jesus as Lord and Saviour, He can satisfy you with long life too. You need to be obedient to God’s word, Jesus said that there are two great commandments and if you fulfill them, you have fulfilled all the commandments (Matthew 22:36-40). Obey God’s laws and do what is right. The Lord will keep you away from things that will shorten your life (list things that can lead to premature death)

INVITATION: Belief in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved (John 5:24)

LESSON ELEVEN (11)
TOPIC: WAYS GOD BLESSES A MAN (WISDOM)

BIBLE TEXT: 1 Kings 3:3-28
[3]And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.
4]And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.
[5]In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
[6]And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
[7]And now, O LORD my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.
[8]And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.
[9]Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
[10]And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.
[11]And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;
[12]Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
[13]And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
[14]And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.
[15]And Solomon awoke; and, behold, it was a dream. And he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and offered up burnt offerings, and offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
[16]Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him.
[17]And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house.
[18]And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house.
[19]And this woman’s child died in the night; because she overlaid it.
[20]And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
[21]And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck, behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear.
[22]And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king.
[23]Then said the king, The one saith, This is my son that liveth, and thy son is the dead: and the other saith, Nay; but thy son is the dead, and my son is the living.
[24]And the king said, Bring me a sword. And they brought a sword before the king.
[25]And the king said, Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.
[26]Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.
[27]Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof.
[28]And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do judgment.

MEMORY VERSE: Daniel 1:20 “And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm”

LESSON AIM: The children will rely on God to give them wisdom

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Learn to be wise

INTRODUCTION:
David was King for forty years. His rule was, for the most part, wise and just. An excellent military leader, he conquered the city of l Jerusalem and made it his capital.
When he died, his son Solomon inherited a powerful empire. The ancient tabernacle had been moved to Gibeon, a few miles northwest of Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 1:3). Early in his reign Solomon went there to offer a great sacrifice to the Lord.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS: 1 Kings 3:3-28

  1. King Solomon offered a thousand offering to the Lord in Gibeon
  2. God appeared to King Solomon in a dream in Gibeon and told him to ask for anything
  3. Solomon started by being thankful for what the Lord did for David his father by keeping him safe through many dangers and defeat of his enemies
  4. King Solomon knew he could not rule the numerous people without God’s help.
  5. Solomon’s greatest wish was wisdom and knowledge to rule the people well and to know the difference between wrong and right

GOSPEL CONNECTION: Knowing the difference between right and wrong means that you believe in Jesus as Lord and Saviour. God sent His Son Jesus to die for the sin of the whole world so that when they believe in Him they can differentiate between right and wrong. Jesus died on the cross shedding His lifeblood for your sins to be forgiven. When you believe, He gives you the power to do all things (John 1:12)

  1. The Lord was pleased because Solomon was thinking of the people

CLIMAX: King Solomon got what he asked for because he was wiser than anyone before or after

CONCLUSION: Everyone saw that Solomon was wise and that God had given him special wisdom when he was able to know the real mother of the living child when two women came for judgment to determine the mother of the dead and the living child

CHALLENGE: The Lord was pleased because Solomon was not selfish. He was thinking of the people. If Solomon had been thinking of himself, he might have asked to be allowed to live and rule a long time. If you have believed in the Lord Jesus as Lord and Saviour, God will give you wisdom and understanding in all that you do (e.g exams, choosing friends, etc)

INVITATION: Receive Jesus into your life and He will give you the power to become His child (John 1:12)
