AGE 4-5 TEACHER’S MANUAL
SUNDAY 19TH OF DECEMBER, 2021
LESSON SIXTEEN (16)
TOPIC: BLESSINGS OF THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT

BIBLE TEXT: Galatians 5:22-26
[22]But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
[23]Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
[24]And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
[25]If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
[26]Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

MEMORY VERSE: Ephesians 5:9 “For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth”

LESSON AIM: God desires that you bear fruits of the Spirit.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: The Fruit of the Spirit is a blessing from God.

INTRODUCTION: Fruits refers to the natural product of a living thing. The Fruit of the Spirit is the result of the Holy Spirit’s presence and workings in the life of a child of God. It is
listed in Gal. 5:22-23.
As physical fruits need to grow and ripen, so also the spiritual fruits need to grow and mature.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
There are nine fruits of the Spirit as listed in Gal. 5:22-23

  1. Love: True love is a choice not a feeling. It is the primary key to everything. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
    God’s love surpasses human understanding
  2. Joy: Heb. 12:2. This is the fruit that represents a great delight or happiness caused by something exceptional, good and satisfying. It gives spiritual strength.
  3. Peace: Peace is the inner quietness of heart, mind and soul.
  4. Long-suffering: This means long and patient endurance in times of trouble. 2 Peter 3:9
  5. Gentleness: This means being moderate and kind. It also means the absence of harshness.
  6. Goodness: This is moral excellence; doing what is right. Mark 10:18
  7. Faithfulness: This 1s to do What you Say you are going to do. It means to be known as someone people can trust.
  8. Meekness: This is being humble and patient. This does not mean being weak but rather a servant-like submission to God and others in your care.
  9. Temperance: This is self-control and moderation. It means having control over your entire body, soul and spirit.

CLIMAX: When we allow the Holy Spirit to take total control of our lives, we produce Godly character.

CONCLUSION: A good Christian lifestyle is produced by the Holy Spirit that dwells in believers, not by self-efforts.

CHALLENGE: The Fruit of the Spirit must show in your life as a child of God. They are the evidences that you are truly a child of God.

INVITATION: You want to bear the Fruit of the Spirit you must be a child of God, so call on Him today and you will be saved. Romans 10:13
