RCCG JUNIOR ZEAL 2024/2025 EDITION
AGE 6-8 TEACHER’S MANUAL
SUNDAY 8TH OF SEPTEMBER, 2024
LESSON TWO (2)
TOPIC: SANCTIFICATION

BIBLE TEXT: 2 Timothy 2:21
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

Leviticus 20:7-8
[7]Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.
[8]And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.

MEMORY VERSE: 2 Timothy 2:21 “Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”

LESSON AIM: The children will live holy by trusting God’s promises wholeheartedly.

CHILD-RELATED TRUTH: Live holy by putting your trust in Jesus

INTRODUCTION: Children! Let’s look at this set of glasses, one is clean and made of pure gold. And the other is very dirty and cracked. These glasses are like you and me, the clean one has been set apart for use while the other has been looked at with disgust. you have been set apart. Children! What kinds of choices would you make to be like the disgusting-looking glass? What choices would you make to be like the clean one? Choices that keep you clean inside. Which glass would you like to be? If you learn to stay away from sin, you will be like the glass made of pure gold which was set apart. Let us look at a man who was set apart for the Lord for the Lord’s use

PROGRESSION OF EVENT: THE STUDY OF PAUL, A MAN SET APART FOR THE LORD’S USE

  1. Paul was not always a follower of Christ but had an amazing conversion (Acts 9)
  2. The Lord chose Paul to be a powerful preacher and missionary even though he had a horrible past of killing and persecuting Christians (Acts 8)
  3. Paul was faithful to God throughout though he faced a lot of trials through beatings, floggings, imprisonments, and hardships because of the promises of God to help him (2 Corinthians 11:23-30)
  4. Paul accepted God’s will and trust in His promises throughout his service to God (2 Corinthians 12:6-10)
  5. Paul preached fervently about how Jesus would return one day, who would return with Him, and what would happen on earth when He would return (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
  6. Paul preached on how we should live daily if we believe in the promises of Christ’s return (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)

GOSPEL CONNECTION: Jesus is the Son of God who came to this world to make the ultimate sacrifice by dying on the cross though He never sinned so that you and I can have forgiveness of sins when we confess them. Jesus died on the cross, He was buried and rose again on the third day. He now lives in heaven with God but will return one day for those who live holy (sanctified)

CLIMAX: Paul made sacrifices, lived holy, and worked hard to obey God

CONCLUSION: Paul paid the ultimate sacrifice for his faith because he was killed for his belief in the Lord Jesus Christ

CHALLENGE: You too can believe in the promises of Christ’s return by living holy. You can live holy by sanctifying yourself in: (Leviticus 20:7-8)

  1. Daily obedience to the word of God
  2. Continual trust in the Lord
  3. Intentional service to God so that others can trust in the Lord

CARRY-OVER ACTIVITY: This week, let others see how committed you are to the Lord by doing the above

INVITATION: You cannot be sanctified or live holy if you have not believed in God’s promises of salvation (John 1:12)
