LESSON TWENTY SEVEN (27)
TOPIC: THE POWER GIFT 1: FAITH

BIBLE TEXT: Proverbs 3:3-4
[
MEMORY VERSE: “And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.” Acts 6:8

LESSON AIM: For the teenagers to understand the importance of the powerful gift of faith.

CENTRAL TRUTH: The gift of faith enables believers to deliver and showcase God’s powerful impart and transforming effects in the lives of other people.

INTRODUCTION: The Bible defined faith as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen Heb. 11:1, which means that when we receive the things we hoped for, then our faith has manifested physically. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. We are genuine believers today because of our strong belief (faith) in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ and our confession of the same.
Therefore, faith is a must-have for every child of God and we have the responsibility to guard our faith Heb. 4:14. There are depths to faith which could be little, great, or full; to become full of faith, the Holy Spirit the distributor, activator, and operator of gifts in believers, steps in give the girt as He pleases. The gift of faith is the supernatural power released in a believer to do the miracle works of God on the earth.

STUDY GUIDE

  6. Hope is important to strengthen our faith. Heb. 11:1

B.) DEPTHS OF FAITH

  1. Little Faith: Exhibited by the fearful and doubtful, however, they remember to call on the Lord Jesus for help. Matthew 8:23-26, Matt. 14:31,
  2. Great Faith: A person with great faith comes to Jesus boldly for their miracles and believes there is no barrier. Luke 7:9, Matt 1 5:28
3.Full of Faith: A believer who is full of faith has power as released by the Holy Spirit to work the miraculous. Acts 6:5. 8

  2. Building on your most holy faith, exercising your faith. Jude 1:20
  3. Praying in the Holy Ghost.
4, Service serves as an avenue for the expression and growth of your faith. Acts 6:5-8
  4. Humility.

DISCUSSION: Discuss the meaning and differences between saving Faith, living faith, works of faith and the gift of faith.

LIFE APPLICATION: The heroes of faith in Hebrews Chapter 11 were not low on their faith level and achieved remarkable feats for the Lord. They subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire and witnessed their dead being raised to life again, amongst other great things. Our Lord Jesus Christ says greater works than these shall you do; our goal should be to be full of faith, as seen in Stephen’s life. You can do much more when you truly desire these 3 things: God, to see Him glorified and His gift as given by the Holy Spirit.

CONCLUSION: The gift of faith is for the edification of the Church; it is to showcase the glorious power of God. It helps us to believe the unseen and do the impossible; we call things that be not as though they are just like our Father, the Almighty God by the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. When blessed with this gift, you must use it to glorify God and for the edification of the body of Christ while you remain humble.

LESSON TWENTY EIGHT (28)
TOPIC: THE POWER GIFT 2: HEALING AND WORKING OF MIRACLES

BIBLE TEXT: 1 Corinthians 12:4-12
[
MEMORY VERSE: “To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues” 1 Corinthians 12:10

LESSON AIM: God is completely involved in the giving, using and empowering of gifts. Specifically gifts, places of service and activities vary but they all have their best effects when they build up the body of Christ – the Church.

CENTRAL TRUTH: 1 Cor. 13:13 “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity.” Apostle Paul says gifts are not the main thing. Love is the main thing. Using gifts is one way to love.

INTRODUCTION: There is a difference between the gifts of healing and the working of miracles. Gifts of healing and working of miracles are supernatural enablement given to a believer to minister various kinds of healing and restoration to individuals through the power of the Holy Spirit.

STUDY GUIDE
A.) WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE GIFT OF HEALING:

  1. This gift is not for self-exaltation but for the benefit of others.
  2. There are varied gifts of healing that can be given to us at different times for different illnesses. If God gives you gifts of healing, it does not mean that you can heal at will or that everyone you pray for will be healed … Vs 11. God gave Apostle Paul the grace to heal the crippled man (Acts 14:10): the demonized girl (Acts 16:18). But Paul could not heal himself from the thorn in the flesh (2 Cor. 12:8-9) or from the ailment that he had when he preached in Galatia (Gal. 4:13-14).
  3. Seek the gifts of healing (1 Cor. 14:1): We may rightly seek the gift of healing which is based on love and compassion.

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: What is the relationship between love, compassion and healing?

B.) WORKING OF MIRACLES: A miracle is an extraordinary event that goes against nature, and cannot be explained by science, though Christians believe it is caused by God. Therefore, the gift of working miracles is the supernatural ability to and see the extraordinary power of God manifested in a situation, person or people. It moves beyond the natural realm and its laws are to accomplish the will of God.

  1. Benefits of Miracles: Miracles provide us with breakthrough, deliverance, edification, healing, and more. These testimonies of God’s power and goodness can cause the hardest of hearts to soften. It shakes the believers’ thinking and draws us closer to God. Miracles are supposed to accompany the preaching of the Gospel.
  2. Search for some examples of Miracles in the Bible: John 2 , John 11 , Matt. 14: 13-14, Acts 19:1-6, Exo. 14:16-

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Does God still perform Miracles? If Yes, give personal examples and if No, explain why? Differentiate between gifts of healing and the working of miracles.

LIFE APPLICATION: As a child of God, you are entitled to divine healing and miracles. Seek God first and these shall be granted unto you.

CONCLUSION: Any healing and miracle that are not from God are magic.

INTRODUCTION: The reason they are called the Revelation Gifts is that each one of these gifts reveal something.

STUDY GUIDE
A.) WORD OF WISDOM: The gift of the Word of wisdom is a supernatural gift that is available to the Body of Christ. The “Word of Wisdom” is God’s wisdom pertaining to future events. It is information that only God has pertaining to the future that He imparts to a believer.
You can receive a Word of Wisdom for both yourself and for others. In Acts 21: 10-14, Paul received a Word of wisdom from Agahus concerning what would happen when he went to Jerusalem.

  5. Have the fear of God.. Prov. 1:7
    6 Be humble.. James 3:13
  6. Diligently study His words.2 Tim. 2:15

CLASS ACTIVITY 1: Where can we find the seven pillars of wisdom in the Bible.

D. WORDS OF KNOWLEDGE: Like Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge is a supernatural gift. It is God’s knowledge pertaining to events, past and present, given to a Believer
Jesus had the Word of knowledge in operation in John 4 when He told the Samaritan woman at the well that she had five husbands, and the man she was currently living with was not her husband. Jesus knew that because the Holy Spirit told Him.
Remember, Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit when He was baptized in water by John. We are also anointed with the Holy Spirit and power (Acts 1:) and can do the same works that Jesus did.

E.) HOW TO HAVE wORD OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOD:

Ps. 119..In the reading and understanding of God’s Word

CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Differentiate between Word of Wisdom and Word of Knowledge.

LIFE APPLICATION: As children of God, we need to be closer to God so that we can hear and know His mind concerning all situations.

BIBLE TEXT: 1 Corinthians 12:4-12

MEMORY VERSE: Hebrew 5:14 “But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil”

CENTRAL TRUTH: Discernment has historically been praised as a valuable trait allowing those who possess it to avoid costly mistakes or misfortunes.

INTRODUCTION: As one of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, Discernment is a crucial part of following the teachings of the Bible and leading a successful life in this fallen world.

STUDY GUIDE
A. WHO GIVES THIS GIFT AND WHY?
The Holy Spirit gives the gift of discernment to enable certain Christians to clearly recognise and distinguish between the influence of God, Satan, the world and the flesh in any given situation. The Church needs those with this gift to warn believers in times of danger or keep them from being led astray by false teachings.
According to John of Damascus, the virtue of discernment “is greater than any other virtue, and is the queen and crown of all the virtues.”
Check the Examples through these Scriptures: 1 John 4:1; Rom. 12:; Heb. 5:14; Phil. 1:9-10; Heb. 4:12; 1 Thess. 5:12.

1 John. 4:1.This is a command, not a suggestion or an option. For believers, it is clearly an order and gives no room for any of us to leave to mere chance this crucial dimension of the Spirit world that surrounds us. Developing a closer relationship with God is essential. Being sensitive to the Holy Spirit (1 John 4:2-3) an knowing the Holy Spirit.

LIFE APPLICATION: It is only by getting closer to God that we can know Him and know when people are true to His Word.

CONCLUSION: As believers, we don’t have to be subject to Satan’s wiles. We can rise above his falsehoods and deception..1 Cor. 15:57.

LESSON THIRTY ONE (31)
TOPIC: INSPIRATIONAL GIFT 1(PROPHECY)

BIBLE TEXT: 1 Corinthians 12:4-12

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 4: 10 “We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.”

LESSON AIM: “The ability to prophecy” does not just refer to predicting the future; it can also mean giving a message received from God to the community of believers.

CENTRAL TRUTH:
Prophecy is not a sermon, but a spontaneous, Spirit-Inspired message that is orally delivered
in the congregation for the edification and encouragement of the body of Christ.

INTRODUCTION: One who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them and
comforts them (1 Cor. 14:3). The Prophet Joel had written the words of the Lord, “I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your son’s and daughters will prophesy” (Joel 2:28).
