SUMMARY OF LESSONS 20-25
LESSON TWENTY (20)
TOPIC: SIN
BIBLE TEXT: Psalms 51:1-9; 2 Timothy 3:1-5; Romans 6:12-14; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

MEMORY VERSE: ROMANS 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

LESSON AIM: The children will believe God is the only One who can cleanse them from their sins.

CHILD-RELATED TRUTH: God wants the children to be reminded of His gift to them in salvation.

INTRODUCTION: Children! Do you know what sin is? Sin is when we do what is wrong in God’s eyes. It can be something we do, think, feel, or say. Sin is when you lie to your mom. Sin is when you argue with your brother. Sin is when you yell, cry, or complain to get what you want. Sin is when you do something when no one is looking. Sin makes God’s heart sad. Sin hurts other people! Sin leaves a mess behind and it hurts us. The Bible says that the punishment for sin is death, which means, if you sin, you die. That is serious!

PROGRESSION OF EVENT: PSALM 51:1-9

  1. God, be merciful to me because you are loving and always ready to be merciful
  2. Wipe out all my wrongs, wash away all my guilt, and make me clean again.
  3. I know about my wrongs and cannot forget my sins.
  4. You are the one I have sinned against and have done what you say is wrong.
  5. So you are right when you speak and fair when you judge me.
  6. I was brought into this world in sin and my mother gave birth to me in it.
  7. You want me to be truthful so teach me wisdom and take away my sin to be clean.

GOSPEL CONNECTION: We actually cannot do it ourselves. Jesus is the only one who can wash our hearts and make us clean. When He died on the cross, He died for our sins. Remember how we said that the punishment for sin is death? If we sin, we will die, but we don’t have to. He chose to die to save us and to clean us. His love is saving.

CLIMAX: Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow and make me hear sounds of joy and gladness.

CONCLUSION: Let the bones you crushed be happy again, turn your face from my sins, and wipe out all my guilt.

LESSON TWENTY ONE (21)
TOPIC: WHO ARE YOU?
BIBLE TEXT: Genesis 1:26-31

MEMORY VERSE: PSALM 139:14 “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.”

LESSON AIM: The children will know that God made them extra special and who wants them to be

CHILD-RELATED TRUTH: God wants you to be like Him

INTRODUCTION: Children! Can you see your image when you look in the mirror? (give the children room to answer) So, what does it mean for us to be made in God’s image? It means that when God looks at us, He wants to see Himself. He wants us to be like His mirror. Now, when we look in the mirror, we see God, So, when God looks at us, He wants to see Himself in us.

PROGRESSION OF EVENT: GENESIS 1:26-31

  1. God declared His intention to create man in His image, giving him dominion over the earth and all its creatures.
  2. God created man in His image, both male and female.
  3. God blessed them and commanded them to be fruitful and multiply, filling the earth and exercising dominion over it.
  4. God provided for them by giving every plant and tree for food.
  5. God finished His work of creation
  6. God looked at everything He had made and declared it to be very good.

GOSPEL CONNECTION: God knows just how many hairs are on your head, and He knows more about you than you even know because He made you and loves you with everlasting love and does not want you to perish. God sent His Son Jesus into the world to take the punish you deserve for your sins. Jesus died on the cross, was buried but came alive on the third day. You can now have your sins forgiven if you confess them because of Jesus’s sacrifice

CLIMAX: God’s creation is a reflection of His goodness and perfection

CONCLUSION: We are part of God’s magnificent creation, and He delights in us as His beloved children.

LESSON TWENTY TWO (22)
TOPIC: MENTAL HEALTH
BIBLE TEXT: Mark 5:1-15

MEMORY VERSE: PHILIPPIANS 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy meditate on these things.”

LESSON AIM: The children will know that they can trust in God to help them meditate on things of the Lord.

CHILD-RELATED TRUTH: Put your trust in Jesus to mediate on things of the Lord

INTRODUCTION: STRESS! This is a word you might hear a lot. It seems like everyone is stressed about something. Stress is being worried or feeling uncomfortable about something, and it can feel like a weight or heavy pressure. It is not a good feeling. In Psalm 118:5, the psalmist tells us that he prayed and the Lord, “took my worries away.” Does this mean that God will wave a magic wand when you pray and make everything instantly easy? He does not promise that. However, because you belong to God and He loves you, He does promise that He is always watching over you and will not let you fall (Psalm 121:3).

PROGRESSION OF EVENT: MARK 5:1-15

  1. It was a scary night when a boat pulled onto the shore, Jesus and his disciples got off and realized that they were in a cemetery.
  2. Things got even scarier when a man started running out from the cemetery yelling and screaming and did not have any clothes on
  3. They used to put chains on him and try to keep him away from the town but the man was strong and he broke the chains.
  4. There were scratches and blood all over him and the man had broken bits of the chain hanging from his wrists and ankles.
  5. The disciples were frightened but the man did not come to them but ran straight up to Jesus and started talking loudly.
  6. The disciples wanted to run away, but Jesus did not because he knew why the man was acting strangely.
  7. Satan had sent evil spirits to live inside of him, and Jesus asked who he was, he answered that his name was Legion

GOSPEL CONNECTION: When you do bad things, it is Satan who has sent evil spirits to live inside you but God sent Jesus to take away your sins because of His love for you. Jesus is the only sinless man who ever lived in the world. He came to die in your place so that your sins can be forgiven. Jesus willingly went to the cross taking all your sins

CLIMAX: Jesus commanded the evil spirits to leave the man and they left and went inside some pigs who were nearby, and they ran into the river and died

CONCLUSION: The people came and were surprised to meet the man clean, acting normal, and talking with Jesus.

LESSON TWENTY THREE (23)
TOPIC: SEXUAL PURITY
BIBLE TEXT: 1 Corinthians 6:15-20

MEMORY VERSE: Colossians 3:5 “Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”

LESSON AIM: The children will believe that God has bought them with the blood of Jesus and should pure

CHILD-RELATED TRUTH: God wants you to keep your body pure

INTRODUCTION: Children! If the Holy Spirit was writing rules for your home, what rules would He have? Here’s a clue. In Luke 10:27, Jesus says, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you were to do that…, what would it look like? How would you take care of your mind? Your body? Your heart? Your _ neighbor? Today, you’re going to write a Homeowner’s Manual for the Holy Spirit. How would the Holy Spirit want you to take care of this home of His? What would He want you to do? What would He want you to stay away from?

PROGRESSION OF EVENT: 1 CORINTHIANS 6:15-20

  1. Our bodies are not separate from Christ but are part of Him because we are united with Him through faith.
  2. Just as Christ was raised from the dead, we too will be raised to eternal life because of our union with Him.
  3. The Holy Spirit lives in us to guide us, empower us, and help us live according to God’s will.
  4. We should honor God with our bodies by living in a way that reflects His holiness and righteousness.
  5. Our bodies are meant to be used for God’s purposes, not for sinful activities that dishonor Him.
  6. We should flee from sexual immorality and pursue purity and holiness in our thoughts, words, and actions.
  7. Jesus paid the ultimate price for our salvation by dying on the cross for our sins.

GOSPEL CONNECTION: If we have Jesus as our Savior, our lives are His home. Jesus came to the world to be the Savior. Jesus died a painful death on the cross, was buried and came alive again on the third day. If you have asked Jesus to forgive you of our sins, and you turn from those sins to follow God, then you will have the Holy Spirit living with you.

CLIMAX: Therefore, we should honor God with our bodies and live in a way that glorifies Him in everything we do.

CONCLUSION: Treat your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit and to guide you in living a life that honors Him in all things.

LESSON TWENTY FOUR (24)
TOPIC: SELFLESS SERVICE
BIBLE TEXT: Luke 17:7-10

MEMORY VERSE: Colossians 3:23 “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men”

LESSON AIM: The children will know that God will give them a humble heart to serve selflessly if they rely on Him

CHILD-RELATED TRUTH: God wants you to serve with a humble heart

INTRODUCTION: Hello awesome children of God! Today, we will learn about serving selflessly through a special passage from the Bible. This passage teaches us important lessons about humility and serving others just like Jesus did. Let us discover how we can be servants with humble hearts.

PROGRESSION OF EVENT: LUKE 17:7-10

  1. Jesus told a parable about a servant who worked in the field and served his master.
  2. Jesus told the hearers to imagine they had such a slave to work around their house and farm.
  3. Did the master offer to fix dinner for the slave or vice versa?
  4. Of course, the slave had to prepare the meal and serve the master and his family before he could eat after a hard day in the fields
  5. After a long work, the servant did not expect to be thanked for doing his job.
  6. He understood that he was doing his duty and did not deserve a reward for doing it
  7. But also knew he will be punished for neglecting or shirking his duty.

GOSPEL CONNECTION: Do you know that there is a punishment for sin? The bible tells us that the punishment for sin is death which means spiritual separation from God (Romans 6:23). God loves us very much and does not want us to be separated from Him so He sent His Son Jesus into the world to take the punishment for our sins. Jesus was hung on a cross and He died, was buried and came alive on the third day so that when you are sorry for your wrong doings, He will forgive you.

CLIMAX: Jesus said, that we should do everything we were commanded

CONCLUSION: And to serve God dutifully without any expectation of reward.
