INTRODUCTION:
Children! What is famine? (Let the children answer). Famine is a time when there is no food for people to eat. Remember the time when Joseph saved his family from a terrible famine that lasted seven years (Genesis 41:54). Also, there was such bad famine that Naomi and her family moved to Moab and one of her sons married Ruth (Ruth 1:1). Famines are never good. People ways need food to eat and when they don’t have any, times are very tough

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS: Exodus 26: 1-6: 12

  1. During the time of Isaac, there was a famine in the land
  2. Isaac went to Gerar to meet Abimelech the king of Philistines
  3. The Lord appeared to Isaac and told him not to go to Egypt but to live in the land He will tell him
  4. God told lsaac to dwell in Gerar that he will be with him and bless him
  5. God promised to give Isaac and his descendants all the lands to fulfil His promise to Abraham
  6. God promised to make Isaac’s descendants multiply and all the nations of the earth will be blessed in his seeds because Abraham obeyed God’s commandments, statutes, and laws

GOSPEL CONNECTION: God loved and blessed Isaac because he trusted God even in the famine and did not go down to Egypt. God loves you and wants you to put your trust in Jesus whom He sent down to earth to take the punishment for your sins so that you can be saved. Jesus died on the cross shedding His lifeblood. God loves you and wants to bless you

CLIMAX: Isaac remained in Gerar and sowed in that land, and reaped a hundredfold that same year

CONCLUSION: The Lord blessed Isaac in the land of Gerar

CHALLENGE: If you have believed in Jesus as Lord and Saviour, He wants you to put your trust in Him for all things. Remember that Jesus will provide for all your needs according to His riches in glory if you obey Him (Philippians 4:19). Isaac obeyed God and he became more wealthy during the scarcity in the land

INVITATION: Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved

RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual 9 January 2022 TOPIC: The Holy Spirit In Action

INTRODUCTION:
Count Your Blessings” is a phrase we hear quite often. But what exactly are these blessings we should be counting? Why should we count them? It wouldn’t take very long to count one or two, so there must be many. There are three things we must know before we can count blessings. The first is how do you get them? The second is what are they? And the third is why do we have so many in our scripture passage today, we should be able to answer all three questions.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS: Deut. 28:2-14

  1. When you’re walking the favor of God, you will receive these blessings if you obey Him
  2. Every place you go, whether in the city and in the country (v. 3).
  3. In the health of your body and the fruit of your labor (V. 4).
  4. With both your coming in and your gong out(v.6)
  5. Providing you with victory over your enemies (v. 7).
  6. Blessing you in everything you set your hand to (v. 8).
  7. Establishing you as part of the Lord’s “holy people (V.9).

GOSPEL CONNECTION: Blessings are all around us, but we should not just take them for granted. God gives us blessings because He loves and cares for us. God so loved the world which includes you and me which made Him send His only Son Jesus to die ror the Sin or me Jesus died nailed to the cross and was buried, He rose again on the third day. Because of what Jesus did for us, you can now have your sins forgiven. God wants to give you blessings you cannot imagine

  1. Giving you breakthroughs of God’s bounty and “His good treasure” (V.11).
  2. Becoming “the head and not the tail” (v. 13).
    .
CLIMAX: God’s blessings will chase you and overtake you(v. 2)

CONCLUSION: God has already made HIS decision that He wants to bless you as His child

CHALLENGE: As you can tell by now, blessings are all around us, but we should not just take them for granted. God gives us blessings like the rain to keep things green and growing: the food we have to cat, people who care for us; a place to worship God; clothes to wear, fiends; homes to keep us warm and dry: soft beds to sleep on, and the list goes on, and on, and on. Like in the words of an old hymn by Johnson Oatman Jr. Count your blessings, name them one by one, Count your blessings see what God hath done! Count your blessings, name them one by one, Count your many blessings, see what God hath done! Sometime today, think about all the blessings God has given you, write them down as a list if you like. Then take a few moments and thank Him in prayer.

INVITATION: To be blessed by God, you need to believe in Jesus as Lord and Saviour (John 5:24).

LESSON SIXTEEN (16)
TOPIC: BLESSINGS OF THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
BIBLE TEXT: Galatians 5:22-23

MEMORY VERSE: John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing:”

LESSON AIM: The children will know that the Holy Spirit is a blessing from God

CHILD-RELATED TRUTH: The fruit of the spirit can help you in any situation

INTRODUCTION:
Everyone has their favorite fruit, right? Some people are big fans of apples. Some people like citrus fruits ike oranges and grapefruit and tangerines. Some like berries strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, you name it. Some like exotic fruits like kiwi and pineapple. With so many choices and so many people in the world, there’s a fruit out there for just about every set ot taste buds. There’s a famous passage in the Bible about the fruit I want to share with you today. This Fruit can do so many things. This fruit can help us make good choices. lt can help us learn to treat others better. It can keep us from sin, and it can focus our minds on Jesus. We are not talking about just one fruit, but nine fruits. The bible calls them the Fruit of the Spirit.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS: Galatians 5:22-23

  1. God wants us to love others. He wants us to love him, and he wants us to share his love with the world. That’s why the first fruit is love.
  2. God also wants us to have joy. Joy is more than emotion like happiness. Joy is knowing that no matter what happens, good or bad, God is in control. Even when we are sad, we can have joy, knowing that God is looking out for us.
  3. Peace is something we can have when life is going crazy. It’s also something we can share. We can bring peace to bad Situations by doing good and loving others.
  4. Patience is Something we all need more of! Patience means not Just waiting, but trusting God is working all things out for our good.
  5. Kindness, goodness, and gentleness are the way we treat others. God wants us to be kind and loving toward others doing good where it is needed.
  6. Faithfulness means being true to God, true to our loved ones, and true to our friends

CLIMAX: And self-control means learning to control our emotions and actions. We don’t react in anger. We think before we speak. We consider our words Carefully. We resist the temptation to sin, and we do the right thing.

CONCLUSION: The Spirit the bible talks about here is the Holy Spirit. It is part of the Trinity with God the Father and Jesus, God the Son.

CHALLENGE: When we accept Jesus as our Savior, God sends the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts. The Holy Spirit guides us so that we can live a life that is holy and pleasing to God. When the bible talks about the Fruit of the Spirit, it means the fruits that grow in our lives. When you are tollowing Christ and striving to serve others, people see these fruits in you. When you give your heart to Jesus and let him take control, the Fruit of the Spirit will grow in your life. Others will see Jesus in you through those fruits, and they will want Jesus for themselves. The Fruit of the Spirit can help you make a difference in this world. The Fruit of the Spirit is the recipe for pleasing God.

INVITATION: For you to have the fruit of the Spirit, you must accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour (John I:12).

LESSON SEVENTEEN (17)
TOPIC: ATTRACTING GOD’S BLESSINGS 1 (RIGHTEOUSNESS)

MEMORY VERSE: Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people.

LESSON AIM: For children to know that only the righteous can attract God’s blessing,

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: God’s blessings, are for the righteous children

INTRODUCTION:
What stood out the most was the fact that God had set up a system through which people could receive His blessing. God uses people to reach people and the priests were set up pronounce blessings in His name.
The very fact that He set up priests to bless is evidence enough that God want to bless you! Ultimately, we are blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ (Eph. 1:3), but the kingdom of God is our priority.

A. God loves every of His creatures, but what He hates is the sin we are carrying and will do everything to shy away from sinful children, He was disappointed to see man sinning against Him
B. Only Noah in his generation was righteous and God identify him for special assignment
C. God warned Noah against the impending fury on mankind, just because He love him for his righteousness. God love him and cherish him for his obedience and love for him. God also wants you to be righteous and want to save you from your sin and its punishment if you forsake all your sins.
D. Noah obeyed God, and listen to His instructions
E God commanded Noah and his family to enter the ark taking with them certain species or kinds of animals
F. The door of the Ark was shut when Noah and his family and all other animal of different kinds entered the ark. God had warned the people for 120 years to turn from their sins, but they didn’t obey. The only place for safety is the ark. Those in the ark were safe from punishment for sin. Accept Jesus today, He is the only sure way for safety from the punishment of sin. He is God’s perfect son who took the punishment tor your sin and mine when He died on the cross. Colossians 1:14, You can be safe in the custody of our Lord Jesus just as Noah and his family were safe in the ark.
G. God destroyed every living thing on the earth through flood. After several months the flood water dried up and the ark rest on Mount Ararat (Genesis 8:1-14)

BIBLE TEXT: Genesis 12:1-9

MEMORY VERSE: Deuteronomy 30:2 “And shalt return unto the Lord thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that l command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul”

LESSON AIM: The children will learn to trust and obey God in all things

CHILD-RELATED TRUTH: Always trust and obey God

INTRODUCTION: God chose one man, Abram, to be the beginning of a whole new nation that would be called God’s people. He told Abram to leave his home and his relatives and begin traveling. Abram took his wife, Sarai, and his nephew, Lot, and left his home and traveled and lived in tents. The Lord also told Abram that his name would be great and that the whole world would be blessed through this new nation. Abram believed God and obeyed.

PROGRESSION OF EVENT: Genesis 12:1-9

  1. One day God told Abram to leave his country and his relatives and to go to a new land that he would show him.
  2. God did not say where the new land was, He just told Abram to go and that He would show him later
  3. Abram and his relatives left their home country forever and would live in tents and travel around wherever God told them to go.
  4. In the land of Canaan God told Abram to have a good look around that someday Abram’s children and grandchildren would own this land.

GOSPEL CONNECTION: God loved Abram and Sarai but God also loved all of the other families in the world so God made a plan to bless everyone. God sent His Son Jesus to take the punishment for our sins so that we can be blessed when we trust and obey Him. (Proverbs 3:5)

  1. They stopped in a place called Shechem so that Abram could build an altar of stone and worship God and later they stopped in a place called Bethel and did the same thing.

The bible says in Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust the Lord completely, and don’t depend on your counseling. With every step you take, think about what God wants, and He will help you go the right way. Trust God in all things this week and obey all that He tells you to do

INVITATION: You need to put your trust in Jesus by calling on Him as Lord and Saviour to be able to obey Him in all things (Romans 10:13)
