TOPIC: THE BLESSINGS OF LOVING GOD’S WORD

BIBLE TEXT: Luke 10:38-42
[38]Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
[39]And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.
[40]But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
[41]And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
[42]But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 119:105 “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path”.
LESSON AIM: God’s word is for you.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Receive the blessing of God’s word.

INTRODUCTION:
The Bible, the Bible, the word of God for me.
The Bible, the Bible is the truth and victory!
I have read an exciting book,
So adventurous and true
They say it’s a real old book,
But for me it’s all brand new.
There is history and poetry
And prophecy for you in the Bible
I hope you will read it too.
It gives me the answers
When I don’t know what to do.
It tells me that God is love,
And there is lots of love for 0you in God’word.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
A. Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house.
B. And she had a sister called Mary who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. Jesus always teaches people what God wants. God
is His Father who lives in Heaven, the Creator, who sent Him to the world to save us from our sins. God loves you and does not want your sin to separate you from Him. So He sent His Son Jesus to take away your sin. John 3:16. Jesus always reveals His Father’s love through His teachings.
C. But Martha was distracted with much serving and she approached Him and said “Lord do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me”. Martha was too busy with unnecessary things, she was distracted. Are you distracted too? Sin is a distraction from what God wants, stealing, lying, fighting, disobeying etc. Romans 3:23, Romans 3:26). But God loves you so He sent Jesus to take away the punishment of your sin.

CLIMAX: And Jesus answered and said to her “Martha, Martha you are worried and troubled about many things.
Jesus is the solution to all your worries and troubles. He is the perfect Son of God who came to die for your sins. He gave His blood on the cross to take away the punishment of your sins. Hebrew 9:22b. He paid the price). You have to receive Him as your Saviour and Lord to have your sins forgiven.

CONCLUSION: But “one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.
(Mary Knew the importance and the blessings of loving God’s word, for God’s word is life, is eternal). Do you also love God’s word?

CHALLENGE: If you have received Jesus as your Saviour, you must keep hearing God’s word by reading your Bible, coming to church Bible club. You must obey and practice God’s word so that you can receive the blessings. Stop being distracted!
