LESSON FOURTEEN (14)
TOPIC: WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT – HE TEACHES US

BIBLE TEXT: John 14:25-26
[25]These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
[26]But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

MEMORY VERSE Luke 12:12 “For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.”

LESSON AIM: At the end of this study, teenagers will understand the Importance of having the Holy Ghost as their teacher.

CENTRAL TRUTH: The Holy Spirit is the best teacher because He is omniscient.

INTRODUCTION knowledge of any degree or of anything is received through teaching. To teach is to impart knowledge or instruct someone as to how to do something. Just as we have teachers in various professions impacting us with knowledge, so does the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit teaches believers things that we cannot know with our human understanding. In this life, there are constant lessons for us to learn. And in the Holy Spirit, we have been given an amazing teacher. In today’s lesson, we are going to explore what it means to be taught by the Holy Spirit.

A.) WHAT THE HOLY SPIRIT DOES AS A TEACHER- John 14:26
1- He teaches us all things
2- He brings all things to our remembrance
3- He reveals the meaning of Scripture to Christians the way Jesus would. John 14:26
4- He reveals to us the deep things of God which are hidden from us and are foolishness to the natural man. 1 Corinthians 2:9-13
5- He interprets and imparts power to discern in order to appreciate what He has taught us 1 Corinthians 3:14
6- He enables the believer to communicate to others in power the truth he himself has been taught. 1 Cor. 2:1-5

B.) WHY DO WE NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT TO TEACH US?
1- To give us unlimited help and guidance. John 14:26.
2- To direct your steps Romans 8:9;11
3- To manifest godly character. Galatians 5:22-23
4- To help us to discover a wealth of truth that has the power to set you free from the bonds and burdens of this world. Luke 12:12
5- The Holy Spirit reveals to you how these words written thousands of years ago are entirely applicable to your life today.

C) HOW TO BE THE HOLY SPIRIT’S STUDENT – 1 Cor. 2:10; Jam 1: 5
1- Choose to be a student of the Holy Spirit.
2- Spend time studying Scripture with the Holy Spirit.
3- Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what wisdom he wants to show you.
4- Ask him to show you the meaning of the words you are reading.
5- Allow him to apply Scripture directly to your life.

LIFE APPLICATION: The Holy Spirit is the best teacher one can ever have. Delight in Him, be conscious of how He speaks and obey His words. As you do so, may you begin to experience a new life void of confusion and full of confidence.
The Bible is a practical book meant to impart the lives of those who read it under the influence of the Holy Spirit. This can only happen in the life of a born-again Christian that has a relationship with Jesus. John 15:5

CONCLUSION: When we allow the Holy Spirit to teach us, we are submitting our lives to Him one day at a time and making time to listen to Him and study the Word with Him. The Holy Spirit is ready to be our teacher the way He was to the disciples.
He will teach us how the Scriptures applies to our lives. It is incredibly important that we make time to study the Scriptures, but it is equally important that we read the Bible along with the Holy Spirit instead of apart from Him.
