INTRODUCTION
During the time Jesus lived on earth, sickness was termed as a result of sin. Sick people always approached Jesus for healing knowing that He had the power of God and it is only God who has the power to heal them. They were ten lepers who had probably heard of Jesus healing the sick and sought His help to heal them.

PROGRESSION OF EVENT
1 Jesus on His way to Jerusalem went along the border between Samaria and Galilee

  1. As He went into a village, ten men with a skin disease called leprosy met Him
  2. They were standing close by and shouted to Jesus to pity them
  3. Jesus told them to go and show themselves to the priest
  4. While they were on their way, the lepers got healed and only one of them who was a samaritan came back to say thanks to Jesus

GOSPEL CONNECTION: Can you believe that they were healed by the power of God and nine of them forgot to say thank you? Not saying thank you is an act of ingratitude which is a sin. Romans 6:23 tells us that there is a punishment for sin which is eternal separation from God, but it went further to say that the gift of life is through Jesus. God sent Jesus to die for our Sins because of the love He has for you and me. Jesus died a sinful death on the cross to give us life.

CLIMAX: Jesus asked him, were they not ten of you, where are the other nine? Jesus declared that his faith had made him whole.

CONCLUSION: Jesus was not happy with the nine who did not give thanks but was happy with the one who gave thanks.

CHALLENGE: If you are a child, who already believes in Jesus as Lord and Saviour, you need to always give thanks to the Lord. In your life, there are many things to thank God for. I am sure you forget to thank God sometimes too just like the nine lepers that were healed. And you know, we might hear this story and think that the nine ungrateful lepers seem just terrible. But think about it a little, do we always give thanks to God? Do we remember how much He gives us every day? Do we recognize His constant hand in our lives and praise Him always? We should be like the one leper who thanked God.
CARRY-OVERACTIVITY: This week, you should think of things that will remind you to thank God.

INVITATION: You can only thank Jesus wholly if you know Him as Lord and Saviour (John 3:16).
