LESSON SIXTEEN (16)
TOPIC: REASONS TO BE GRATEFUL TO GOD 1:
(GOD’S UNCONDITIONAL LOVE)

BIBLE TEXT: Luke 16:17
[17]And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

MEMORY VERSE: Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrated his own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”.

LESSON AIM: God loves you unconditionally.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: You have to love God unconditional and man too.

INTRODUCTION: God’s love is unconditional and He wants us to love the same way. Romans 5:8-9, as sinners God gave us His Only
Son, His perfect son Jesus Christ to die for us sinners. I John 4:8 God is love and if you do not love you do not know God. You have to be
grateful to God for His unconditional love towards you that saves youfrom your sin and cares for all your needs; spiritually, physicaly,
mentally, emotionally God cares for you unconditional. You do not have to be good or be in a certain way to enjoy God’s love. This is
wonderful.

PROGRESSIONOF EVENTS
A. Tax collectors and sinners came to hear the Lord Jesus teach V.l
(The tax collector were hated by most Jews because they collected money for Roman government -they are known for being dishonest and greedy, they often steal from what they collect.)
B. The Pharisees and scribes criticized Jesus for befriending such wicked people v2 (The Pharisees and scribe were very proud religious people who look down on others who did
not know the law John 7:49. They feel that Jesus ought not to have anything to do with others but Jesus cares about everyone. Jesus the son of God loves you as He loves everyone unconditionally).
C. Knowing the thoughts of the Pharisees and the scribes, Jesus told a story picturing His love concerning everyone v. 4-7
D. Shepherd owned a hundred sheep. v4
E. One sheep became lost v.4 (The shepherd was concerned, what do you think will happened to the ship without the shepherd’s care? Anyone without Jesus is a lost sheep. Sin makes you to be lost that is being separated from God who is the Good Shepherd Romans 3:23. The Good shepherd want to save you from being lost in your sin).
A. The concerned Shepherd immediately searched for the lost sheep Vs 4 (This is the wonderful thing the Lord Jesus did for you; He loves you unconditionally. He gave His life for
you by dying on the cross so that you can be saved from you sins. John I0:11, 18. Jesus Christ is truly a Good Shepherd who loves you unconditionally, He provided a way for you to be under His protection and care if only you
believe in Him).

CLIMAX: After diligently seeking the loving Shepherd finally found the sheep that was lost and brought him to the safety of the fold Vs.5

CONCLUSION: Overjoyed the shepherd called his friends and neighbor to celebrate finding his sheep. (So there is joy and celebration in Heaven over every saved soul) Vs.6-7.

CHALLENGE: You have to love this God who loves you unconditionally by obeying His words.

INVITATION: The Lord Jesus want to save you, respond to His unconditional love today Act 16:31.
